One is Billboard's and the other was compiled by someone learning HTML for the first time?

If that was the case, wouldn't be "Spaceman"'s peak position the same on both charts?

Probably one being Billboard and the other being Mediabase.

Probably one being Billboard and the other being Mediabase. Yeah, this is the real answer. I was just being sarcastic.

There's no source on the second page that I saw. It may just be a personal fan page. But the one on the left is the gold standard, so why bother comparing?

If you click a couple links, it will tell you they're all taken from Mediabase.
And Billboard is to radio as McDonalds is to hamburgers.

You could not be any more off there. Subscribtions to Billboard and Nielsen B.D.S. runs about $800 a year for those not in radio. Mediabase is free from what I have heard. Now I haven't been to McDonald's since I was a kid, but comparing their 50¢ burgers to the most expensive and extensive music service available is reaching a bit. Maybe you meant to compare Billboard to Olde Homestead Steakhouse or Texas Roadhouse or something?
Not to be mean, but you seem very similar to that weirdo Willthefutureblameme that used to post here. In your few posts I've read, you've been as wrong as possible. Any relation?

Ooops, nevermind. I just saw your Posts: 4292. You probably are him, which explains everything. I did not realize you could change names (but why the heck would you want to??). Continue your nonsense at will. It's actually fun!

I'll let the other guys reply to the rest of this gappadegook, but Mediabase is actually of greater exclusivity than Billboard. Mediabase beyond the top 50 is not available to the public for any price that any of us are aware of (I'm sure it's negotiable but completely not worth it).

You can purchase a subscription as a private user for whatever reason, but it is far more than the $800 quoted and I can't imagine why even the most diehard music geek would do so unless he was quite sure he had enough discretionary income to last two lifetimes.

Like stated, Mediabase is free. People have talked even here about the top 500 positions being available for free. They have no market to sell that data, because Billboard is the source. Nielsen goes past the 600 or so songs every day because they want to note every single song being played by the monitored stations. But it's no use really comparing the two. Luckily, the music charts business is a monopoly.

Luckily, the music charts business is a monopoly. What people where and how. Mediabase is not open to the public. The only charts you can view are the weekly Top 40 for each format. In the past, you could look at the top 500, that is true. But not for about a year now.

*cough* top 50 *cough*
But other than that I agree with pen, and when you think about it the McDonald's reference is really spot on. Unfortunately many people still see billboard as the single, irrefutable source for radio charts.

Someone please tell me.

What, AllAccess is Mediabase? Since when?
EDIT: Oh holy shit, it was right there all the time on the links. Now I just feel like a tool.

I don't ever remember changing that if I did. But if so, it's still the same name. Not quite the same as running away from an identity that didn't do so well in the posting department. Nothing wrong with a fresh start for him though! It may help.

I wish the admins would bring back the ignore function. I miss that. I'd use that.

It's hard for me. It's like finding a dirty spot on something that you just can't wipe off, but you're still determined to do so.
