Updated HDD prediction:
YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10 (OR 15) CHART PREVIEW: The race for the top remains very close, but we’re giving Keith Urban a slight lead over Prince for #1 going into the weekend. Once again, at least half of the Top 10 will be debuts. Based on midweek sales, here's how things are shaping up:
** Keith Urban (Capitol Nashville) 170-180k <snip> Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 35-40k ** Rodney Atkins (Curb) 30-35k

Judging from the reviews and the two singles, I'm getting the feeling that Keith is going for a more radio friendly album. Something just seems to be missing that was present on LP&twct. I don't know if it's just because he's put out two up-tempo, fluffy songs in a row, or what.

Well, after a lot of time reading the forum, specially the country forum, I finally got registrered, and I think this is the perfect topic for may first post.
I LOVE Keith's new album. It's obviously different from the previous one, but that does not mean it's a bad album, although some critics are saying so... Anyway, I think this album has some fresh and happy feeling and I love it. I really enjoy every song on the album, but I think Than You is defenatly de stand out track. I really like I'm In too, it could be a great single.
The only thing I'm sad about is that the album has not been released here in Spain, and that's weird because they usually do release Keith's albums here... We'll see if they release it someday soon.
In other news -and I don't know if this is the correct topict to post this-, Keith has been working with Timbaland for a Verizon exclusive track called No Frills, an apparently also a remix for If Ever I Could Love. That's gonna be curious to see.

^those are the only 2 i dislike as well. "Thank You" is alright, but TSCA is just awful. After hearing this album through enough times to finally choose favorites, I have to say that "Til Summer Comes Around" is EASILY among my top 3 favorites, along with "If Ever I Could Love" and "Why's It Feel So Long". My next set of favorites would be "Kiss A Girl", "Sweet Thing", "Hit The Ground Running", and "I'm In". Anyways, I seriously believe that "Til Summer Comes Around" is a major highlight of the album. I love the way he sings it and the feel of it. He puts so much emotion into it. Between this album and his last one, I am becoming a much bigger fan of his work. I'm also hard pressed to find two other consecutive albums from any other artist that are so solid beginning to end.

I didn't get a chance to post my full thoughts on this album before I left for vacation, so I'll play catch up now. I think the album is a bit of a letdown after the deeply personal LP&TWCT. It's still a fine album, don't get me wrong, and definitely a more commercial album. The highlights for me are I'm In and 'Til Summer Comes Around. I'm In is light-hearted and catchy like most of the album, but much stronger lyrically. 'Til Summer Comes Around is a must for a single, probably the next single. It's the only song of the album that lets you in on the tortured sole that was so prevalent on LP&TWCT. I like happy Keith, but he does both sides very well. Standing Right In Front Of Me and If Ever I Could Love are both very good as well, and I could see either being singles in the future. I like SRIFOM a bit better, but it does feel a little bit like Kiss a Girl. Thank You was a bit gushy, but the sentiment was effectively presented and very genuine. Overall, I'd say it's in the 3.5-4 star range for me. To make a truly great record, Keith needs to take the highlights from this album, mix them with the highlights from his last, and he may just have the formula for an outstanding record.

This is #1 on the album chart. Very close to Prince, though.

After listening to this album in its entirety, I think "If Ever I Could Love" has great potential to be a crossover smash on Adult Contemporary radio, as I think he's never sounded closer to Don Henley than on this standout.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton (Uwajimaya)

Sincerely, Noah Eaton (Uwajimaya) Interesting comparison. I'm a big Don Henley fan and Keith is my favorite male country artist but I didn't pick up on any similarities. I think If Ever I Could Love is my favorite on the CD. I can't seem to stop playing it. I would be really happy if it ends up as a single, although I think they'd have to trim it somewhere since it's over 5 mins.

To make a truly great record, Keith needs to take the highlights from this album, mix them with the highlights from his last, and he may just have the formula for an outstanding record. I generally agree with this post. I still think it's a very good album, and his melodies and lyrics (as far as happy goes) are still very solid. Vocals are superb, as usual. But there's just a slight edge or rawness missing to make it a true 5-star album -- that's why I'll stick with 4 stars here. To me, the standout tracks (for very different reasons) are Kiss A Girl and Til' Summer Comes Around -- the latter because it's the one song that dives into the emotion and somewhat despair that his classics like You'll Think Of Me had. I'd guess that will be the next single, unless they decide they want to throw out another up-tempo in the summer (since I'm guessing it'll be released to radio in late June/July). I also think Only You Can Love Me This Way is a possible single -- no, it's nothing particularly special lyrically, but the hooks and the melody are very engaging. I'm In, as most of us have surmised, is pretty much a lock I would assume. But the more I think about it, almost every song on this album, with the exception of Thank You and My Heart Is Open, seems very melody/radio-friendly so there are a lot of possibilities. All in all, I think this is a very, very good album. It's by far the best album of this genre I've heard this year, so I don't want to be overly critical. But I do think he's capable of even more as evidenced by LP&TWCT, and hopefully the next album is a combination of his last two.

This is the first Keith Urban album I've bought when it was new and current. I waited 2-3 singles into the last album to get it, and I bought both Golden Road and Be Here years after their release. I got the album because of "Kiss A Girl" and, while that remains my favorite track, I'm really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy the album.
I didn't love "Sweet Thing" when it was a single, but I've come to appreciate it much more within the context of this record. Based on some of the comments, I was expecting a completely positive, 100% light and optimistic album and, while it does have its moments, I find that isn't completely the case. "Til Summer Comes Around" is wonderful, and is a throwback to "Stupid Boy" and "You'll Think Of Me", both of which I really enjoyed. I hope that's a single at some point, but I think that something upbeat like "Hit The Ground Runnin'", or his version of "I'm In" might be a better fit, since his next single will probably be released in June or July.
Speaking of "I'm In", his version is really good, but The Kinleys' version still trumps it for me. Time may change that, but their version had more soul, in my opinion. I do like his interpretation, though. Ideally, I hope three more singles come from this album. "Hit The Ground Runnin'" next, followed by "Til Summer Comes Around", and then "If Ever I Could Love" to close out the album, and also get sent to AC.

I may be the only one that dosen't like Hit The Ground Runnin'. I think it's the weakest song on the album. As for AC type songs, I see My Heart Is Open as an AC smash. It has a definite Phil Collins feel to it. If Ever I COuld Love will be a smash as well.
1. Sweet Thing 2. Kiss A Girl 3. I'm In 4. My Heart is Open/ If Ever I Could Love/ Only You Can Love Me 5. Till Summer Comes Around
I only see one of the three #4's getting released to Country Radio while at least one of them will go to AC. I am pretty sure he has never released an AC only single but it very well could happen here and I say good for him.
