ok, these are nice updates and all, but they really need to start picking up. if not this song is just gonna get trampled over by other newcomers and it isn't going to amount to anything. Its truly ridiculous. It needs to either hit or flop. By the time it reaches Top 20, its going to be recurrent and not even chart. At least it did better than JAI FLOP. |

I think Flop Flop could definitely hit top 20 despite having the toxic Flopzinger name attached as a featured artist. It should definitely do better than Jai Flop and Bottle Flop, which was never even really allowed to flop. At least it's already done better than Whatcha Think About Flop.

Until this song gets spins on any of the weekend countdown shows (AT40), it will be pretty much stalling and continue to get overtaken by some of the newer songs on the chart, regardless of how many adds or increased spins this is getting.
Ironically, it is the song's slow progression up the chart that is stopping it from getting that exposure. Therefore, other songs like "Good Girls Go Bad", "Use Somebody", "Best I Ever Had", "I'm In Miami Trick" and "When Love Takes Over" (this is even going back two weeks since AT40 since it always runs behind the official charts), will get first samples since they were all ahead of this one.
It seems the only time this song moves up the chart is when songs in higher ranks go recurrent, and therefore doesn't seem capable of holding itself together on its own. Without the help of four songs leaving a few weeks ago, this song would have continued taking its time getting in the Top 40. So that's what accounts for how weak this song's updates are relative to others on the chart.
The song seems to be climbing one rank a week without the help of recurrents. Ever since it debuted in the top 40 at #38 (with the help of four songs leaving), it moved up to #35 the following week (with two songs going recurrent).
Last weekend, it was at #34 and no songs went recurrent. This week, it's certain to reach #33 especially once it passes "If U Seek Amy" as of tomorrow, and the latter will be going recurrent this weekend. So it will be interesting where it goes from there...a similar thing happened with "I Hate This Part" early in its run and we all know how that went. However, this one seems to have more of an uphill battle.
Unless this picks up soon, this could be lucky enough to make the mid-20s, again thanks to all the up and coming recurrents.

Rick Dees's chart has been on break for two weeks. This Saturday, three weeks worth of debuts will splatter themselves onto his chart. Rick tends to "favor" some artists when it comes to hitting his chart, (Aly & AJ, David Guetta, etc.) Since "Jai Ho!" hit Rick's chart, it may be that the Pussycat Dolls are one of those artists that have a slight advantage on Rick's chart, and I think it's a strong possibility that "Hush Hush" will debut on his countdown this Saturday.

Did Bottle Flop do well internationally? It was not allowed to do anything, really. Jai Ho came and ran over it. I think it did somthing on oceania... It's just the normla weird stuff you'd expect from thei team... They make a video and then scrapped everything after... Well, at least the video cost only $5. |
