LOL, thank God she went with a different direction. "I'm Not Perfect" is horrible. It sounds like an Urban Disney song. So bad! How this song was ever thought to be on the same album with "Us Against The World" and "Diamonds" is beyond me.

It sounds like Dream is skeptical about the success of the album, and is trying to work really hard to get Christina a hit. She is still recording and she is looking at some TV projects. If she doesn't come hard, she is going to flop. Right now it seems inevitable.

People liked her with Dip it Low. Christina's problem is a bit more technical than people just not liking her. Her problem is she hasnt built an audience OR an image. She went from bubble gum pop with "Am to PM" to the sex pop vixen with "Dip it low" and then she tried to be urban and street with "Say IIIIII" and now she is a bleach blond bimbo. She just needs to stick with a style and stop trying to jump on whatever is hot at the moment.

I don't get this whole "urban and street" image. That was just the video and the fact that it had Young Jeezy on it. If you take him off the song it loses all it's street appeal. The album was far from "street" as well. Not to mention that her voice makes everything sound Pop anyway.
Personally, I think she does what she wants at the moment. She just gets out shined by everyone else. She has the right material. She just doesn't use it properly. I liked "Whatever U Want", but had reservations about releasing it after something like "Dip It Low". "Highway" was the obvious second single. "Say I" was the worst option for a first single, especially since she was planning to release "Gonna Tell Everybody" as the second when it should've been the first. "Us Against The World" was a bad first option as well.
She has very solid albums with great tracks, but just doesn't know how to get people interested or keep their interest once she has them. It's just so frustrating being a fan of artists that don't live up to their potential.

Cool & Dre are hip hop producers for starters. The entire album had that wannabe hood vibe and her voice doesnt automatically make everything "pop." That doesnt even make sense. Her pop voice over those urban beats just made her sound dumb as hell. The reason she doesnt have a fan base or a strong following is because she has never been able to keep an identity. She tries to jump on too many dicks bandwagons and doesnt try and create her own niche. |
