Facebook Watch Preps Remote Reality Series ‘What Happens At Home’ With Christina Milian From Kin

EXCLUSIVE: Christina Milian, who features in Netflix series Soundtrack and movie Falling Inn Love, is to star in a remotely produced reality series for Facebook Watch.

Kin is producing What Happens at Home with the actress and popstar. The series, which launches on May 14 will delve into Milian’s life under lockdown. It will look at how she’s missing her favorite foods, struggling to maintain a fitness regimen, and attempting to keep her two young children entertained, while also learning to garden, experiment with TikTok and finally go through her junk drawers.

The series is being filmed remotely with Milian doing her own camera and tech set up and working with producers to develop out the series from her home.

It is her latest reality series, having starred in and exec produced hit E! Network docu-series Christina Milian Turned Up.

What Happens at Home is Kin’s seventh original series for the digital platform following Jeannie Mai’s Your Trash, My Treasure, Adrienne Houghton’s Wear It Well, and Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix Presents Comfort Kitchen.

Milian said, “I’ve already been having a good time filming myself in my habitat. It’s great I get to show the ins and outs of all the crafty, fun things I like to do when I’m at home. Sometimes I’m good at things and sometimes I’m not – I think we all can relate. I love my family and I love to be home and bond, so this quarantine has been a great time for me to focus on what’s important”

Michael Wayne, CEO of Kin, added, “Christina is incredibly talented and her content deeply resonates with Kin’s core female audience. We are proud to have her join the Kin family and excited to bring What Happens at Home to Facebook Watch. Looking back at her discography, I wonder who would be a comparable artist for her to do a Verzuz with?

Some people were saying Amerie would be a good choice for Mya, but I think she might be better against Christina? Both had a couple of hit singles, some collaborations with big artists, and some fan favorites from their 3-4 albums/EPs.

I thought Amerie could be good for Mya since they're both for the DC area. Then again, she does not have that much Hot 100 chart entries as Mya. Maybe Ashanti or Ciara could be a better contender for Mya?

Alicia Keys Producing Netflix Romantic Comedy Starring Christina Milian, Jay Pharoah & Sinqua Walls

EXCLUSIVE: Multiple Grammy award-winning recording artist Alicia Keys is attached to produce a currently untitled Netlfix romantic comedy that explores the bonds of love and family. Christina Milian, Saturday Night Live alum Jay Pharoah, and Sinqua Walls will star in the film, which is being directed by Steven Tsuchida, who has directed episodes for Dear White People, Younger, and On My Block.

The script was co-written by Dana Schmalenberg and Rheeqrheeq Chainey. It centers around an aspiring pop star, Erica, who ends up as the entertainment at her ex-fiancé’s wedding after reluctantly taking a gig at a luxurious island resort while in the wake of a music career meltdown. She tries to keep their past relationship a secret from his bride-to-be Beverly, but Erica rediscovers her feelings for her ex, Jason, despite his brother Caleb’s attempts to keep them from falling back in love. The question soon becomes will Erica sing at Beverly’s wedding – or her own?

I wonder if Christina will be playing the lead Erica, or Beverly the bride?

Watch Christina Milian Take Fans Behind-the-Scenes of Her Life With Matt Pokora

As an actress, entrepreneur and mother, the "AM to PM" singer has never been busier. But in the middle of quarantine, Christina wanted to find a creative way to connect with her fans. What came next was a new Kin series titled Really, Truly, Maybe.

In the series trailer released to E! News exclusively, Christina promises a behind-the-scenes look into her life. And yes, there will be plenty of special guests including boyfriend Matt Pokora.

"This time has been a blessing in disguise for us as a family," Christina exclusively shared with E! News. "We've been able to spend quality time together like never before. Being able to have uninterrupted time with Matt and the kids has been incredible."

Back in January, Christina welcomed a baby boy named Isaiah. It's her first child with Matt who is a French singer and songwriter. She also has a 10-year-old daughter named Violet from a previous relationship with The Dream.

While viewers will spot Violet in the new show, Christina revealed that she's trying to keep her son's life a bit more private as she spends time in France.

"It's a choice I am getting used to," she explained. "But understandably so, in France, there are privacy laws that protect children and when I hear the word ‘protect,' it instantly puts us as parents into protection mode. When the time feels right, we will feel happy to share. But honestly, minus the little tiny sliver the world hasn't seen of his face, he's still actively been in many moments of the show."

Christina continued, "Whether he's cooing through the background of a scene I'm shooting, or wants to be held while I'm shooting—I don't hold back. He's right there!"

Ultimately, the proud mom promises her new series will be "candid" and "honest." In fact, she said it may reveal insight into things fans never knew about the actress.

She also hopes the project inspires moms to dream big and know that they can master so much.

"I hope they realize that you can do it all if you put your mind to it," Christina proclaimed. "The show gives them a chance to follow me from home to work and everything in between. I take them along on new business and film endeavors, give them a glimpse into my motherhood journey, and we even take a look back on the early days of my career which was really fun and had its rollercoasters."
