Released September 11, 1989 #6 UK, #128 US Singles: 1. Losing My Mind (#11 US Dance, #6 UK) 2. Don't Drop Bombs (#46 UK) 3. So Sorry, I Said (#62 UK) 4. Love Pains (#41 UK, #40 US Dance) Honestly, I'm not a big Liza fan (I've always preferred her mother.), but a Liza fan friend of mine was talking about this album to me, and it kinda piqued my interest. I looked up songs on YouTube, kinda liked them, and looked for a download link. The album isn't quite bad, to be honest. It sounds a bit weird to hear Liza doing dance music, but for some odd reason it works.

I love this album. There was a thread in the lounge about albums that shaped you or influenced you or something like that, and this was one of my picks. (I just used the same ones I did when it was a Facebook note being passed around.)
It's hard to describe why I like it so much, but here's my attempt at listing reasons: 1) Pet Shop Boys 2) Shakespeare's "Sonnet XCIV" 3) Minnelli still tackling a showtune ("Losing My Mind"), despite the vastly different style, and making it sound way better than her normal work, as she usually seems like a self-parody 4) The flow of the album is about as consistent as PSB's own best arrangements

It definitely wasn't not the first or last time an "odd" collaboration worked. Who'da think country legend Loretta Lynn getting with indie-type rocker Jack White would result in one of the best country CD's ever made?

One of my favourite albums ever. Simply incredible. Her voice has never been put to better use.
My favourite tracks are "If There Was Love", "Rent" and "Twist In My Sobriety".

I kinda wish she'd made more albums like this. I could be a big fanboy if she had more great dance material, because of that self-parody thing WotUNeed mentioned.
But hey, one good album by someone I'm indifferent about for the most part isn't a bad thing at all.
