I knew JD would be a touchy subject this week. If it weren't for this CC drama it probably would have gone recurrent now anyway, since it would continue losing spins rather than gaining them back, and Matt would keep moving up to push her out.

Well, if you just went by last Sunday's trends, that would be true... but even before the panel change, the building chart was indicating Just Dance was going to stay ahead of Come On Get Higher this week by about 150 spins. The first three days of this week, before the panel change, COGH's gains and JD's losses were both already slowing own.

I haven't been tracking Matt, but JD was static on Quick Cut all week practically. Of course, the five removed stations are still on the extended panel so that may skew things a bit, but JD's descent had ground to a halt; this was when the syndicated playlists thing was first brought to light, roughly.

And before this CC mess, Sober was falling faster than JD, too, so my guess would have been Sober ending up below JD. You can even see that in today's chart at how Sober has a bigger spin decrease than JD and is very close to it in total spins. JD shouldn't have gone recurrent this week, yet...

* Technically this is Lady GaGa's second week in the top 40; she actually made both her top 50 and top 40 debuts last week at #39, but with the recent spin revision (removing the spins from the five purged CC stations from the 'last week' column) the reduced spin count places Lady GaGa at #42 for last week. I don't know what the Mediabase PDF will say; it seems like last one's is still up, and it read Love Game as a debut so I don't know if it'll count this as LG's second week or first. I'd be very surprised if they listed LoveGame as a debut for the second week in a row. I'd assume their "last week" positions will be from last week's actual chart. They sourced the top 40 straight from the chart; LG has been counted as a debut week.

^Hi... In fact, Azriel is the one compiling the information at the end of the week... but also, you can check the thread for the CHR/Pop Top 50 Mediabase Chart. Purged with a Super 8 usually posts the last update on Sunday evening (including the evening updates), plus a summary of the songs going recurrent and being purged :) I found it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Who would've thought it possible that the same song could be a top-40 debut two weeks in a row? Mediabase's chart review does just list the other two debuts, not LoveGame, though...
