Both treks the similar path of retro-sounding electro-pop. Which band do you like better?
For those who are not familiar with Passion Pit, you may want to start with "Sleepyheads" and "Moth's Wings".

I think MGMT has stronger singles, but the Passion Pit album is far more consistent.

I haven't given Passion Pit's album enough time to grow on me, but I think I see why banet says it's more consistent than MGMT's.
As of right now, though:
01. MGMT 02. PP
* gap *
03: Empire of the Sun: I like their singles, but they sound a bit too 'standard' for my taste. And the rest of the album isn't really all that.

I think MGMT has stronger singles, but the Passion Pit album is far more consistent. That's exactly what I was going to say, almost verbatim, but with the phrases in reverse order.

Still feeling out Manners but it's enough for me to opt for Passion Pit & MGMT over EotS. By simply giving each act's set of singles a listen, you can surely contrast how effortlessly festive MGMT is to how uneventful and unnatural EotS is. It's almost laughable how internally insipid an act can be with a mind-bending veil on for show. Hell, it's outright hilarious.
