Killswitch Engage have a video in the works for their track "Starting Over". The song is expected to serve as the first single from the groups new self-titled effort, which will see a June 30th release date through Roadrunner.

Otherwise, I'm having a hard time understanding your continual failure to grasp little rituals, in-jokes and other business as usual in this forum.

Yeah, I mean, he's a metal fan, I'd think he'd be right behind rituals.

The song posted on roadrunner for free was pretty good. "Reckoning" I believe it was called.

Just watched the video for this.
The song is pretty good. I expect this album to further establish them on the active rock chart and garner them the most mainstream attention they'll see in their career. The only drawback of the song is that it feels, perhaps, a little too polished.
And the label spent way too much money on the music video.

Heard on radio for first time today. A bit too much for any radio love I'd suspect.

A week before the album comes out? Weird. Might make sense though to strike while the iron's hot. The song's just come out now and a couple of weeks from now keeps it fresh whereas there are some albums that hold onto a single for two months before it actually comes out.

I don't expect it to do a 'little good'. I would be suprised if it outpeaked the previous lead single, "My Curse".

Maybe I'm wrong here but this band does NOT have radio success written on it until they calm down the scream vocals. Its way to hardcore scream heavy to be played in a lot of markets. If they just sang and played it out like the choruses they might find more commercial success but until then they have the fan base that will search them out. However radio won't embrace them with this singing sound in my opinion. The quick reasoning for me is this.....the death metal type screaming doesn't play as well on radio as the punker screamo does. That's just my observation.
Musically its great.

I don't think that's their main goal. They lose the metal screams, their fanbase will say they've gone soft. Their metal base is a lot bigger and a lot more passionate about them than any base they would add by cleaning up their vocals. Then again on "The End Of Heartache" and on "My Curse" they sent radio mixes with clean vocals while giving their fans the screaming versions on the albums. Maybe "Starting Over" will get similar treatment.

I agree wholeheartedly. I don't think they care about chart success and that is perfectly fine. All I was really saying was that IF they wanted that (as some of their fans would like to see) they would have to tone it down a bit. I don't think they will, I don't they should. They are fine the way they are.

^ I'm not sure you're aware of the implication of your statement in question. "Decent" usually means "adequate" or "satisfactory." Then again on "The End Of Heartache" and on "My Curse" they sent radio mixes with clean vocals while giving their fans the screaming versions on the albums. Thankfully that hasn't been the case with my Alt station. I was never aware of any of that going on elsewhere.

You sure? I mean the radio mixes still have screams in them, but they're lower in the mix, and in a few spots, they layer clean vocals with the screams where there were just screams before. And considering your station started off with the edited version of FFDP's "The Bleeding" while most active rock stations that play the Killswitch edits played the unedited "Bleeding" mix....idk. Sounds fishy to me.

I've heard that way more on the radio lately than I have on the actual album. Could you provide links to the radio edits, maybe?
