She was recently featured on The Insider here in the USA, she's a 16-year-old German pop singer who is pretty well known there. She has some cute songs, and a very interesting back story. Her songs "Fade Away" and "Last Forever" can be bought everywhere on iTunes. Her debut album is in the works. She's signed to a minor record label called Joyce Records. Clock the avi but I totally meant to resurrect this months ago and never did beyond changing the title lmao. Still pumped for it. Sucks she works with Dr. Luke but eh. Her judgment call to make.

I'm so excited for this album. Turn Off The Light pt.1 was fantastic but the stand-alones have been really hit or miss for me. I don't get how she managed to create such a solid body of work with an unpromoted EP yet the more-promoted one-offs have been all over the place and lacked any substance.

Me and you both. I don't really understand what she's planning to do by releasing each song as a single (and with no real promotion), but I'm not mad at all. Get Your Number is my fave, but Broken is also excellent and Blow It All is a nice Post Malone vibey jam.

I love Kesha and have so much respect in her battle, but I think Kim's music shouldn't be blacklisted because of her ties to Dr. Luke, especially when she says her experience with him has been super positive. For all we know, Gottwald could use a pseudonym and stay in the business anyway, so at least it is good that Kim is open about it.
Clarity is a great album, and Kim is one of if not the most well-known transgender performer currently, so I am rooting for her all the way.

I'm not blacklisting her (although I know people that definitely are.) I'm just saying I'm not going to stan her the way I do Kesha. Taylor to real serious issues like Kesha's battle, fans can only know so much. I'm 99.9% of the time going to believe survivors of assault, and I stand with Kesha in her battle. Her last album was amazing, and getting to hear "Praying" live was one of the most emotional musical moments of my life. |
