Seeding is based on the better of a song's alternative and active rock peak, with ties broken by performance on the secondary chart, and those ties further broken by hot 100 peak. The songs selected were what I perceived to be the band's most popular song. It was often the highest charting single that was chosen, but occasionally I chose a different song that I thought was more of a defining song for the band (eg why I went with "The Bleeding" instead of their cover of "Bad Company" for FFDP). I hope this clears up any issues.

Also, U2 might have the biggest song on the chart, but because only one of the two rock charts existed back then, it came in last on the tie-breaker for #1s.
