I don't know why I don't post here. I love Kelly so much, since I first saw her on American Idol.
I'm really hoping Already Gone becomes the hit it deserves to be. The song is just so good.

All I Ever Wanted (Deluxe Edition) is at 20 on Pop, and All I Ever Wanted is at 32. Seems like Already Gone is working.
Breakaway is at 99 too!

From an article on the Montana State Fair's hard times this year due to a variety of factors: Though general attendance hit historic levels, ticket sales for the night shows, which cost between $15 and $34.50, dropped significantly. Nine shows were offered, with Kelly Clarkson's performance generating the most revenue. billingsgazette.com/news/local/article_0d358ba4-8dd9-11de-9b28-001cc4c03286.htmlHard to tell from the article if that means Kelly's show turned a healthy profit for the Fair, but from the videos it looked like a good crowd that night for a weeknight show in Montana. It'd be good for her to get some recognition as a live act who can still draw in a tough economy.

Good to see she's still using the new arrangement with the drums kicking in halfway.
That hybrid beehive/mullet hairdo is awful, especially with that outfit. Hopefully that's a one-night experiment - it's a bad fashion decision even by Kelly standards.

I love that version of Already Gone. Half acoustic and half electric, the perfect balance. The vocals of course were wonderful.

I was at a fairly "butch" gay bar last night where they played a lot of rock music--the only song I recognized was Phil Collins In The Air Tonight. As we were getting ready to leave, they blasted AIEW! It sounded fantastic and would have fit right in that night if they hadn't made it so loud. Then when we were walking out they played LS haha. The DJ must have been a fan.

Already Gone has dipped in Australia for the first time since its release. It lost three positions and fell to 17. It debuted on the physical single's chart at 48. Hopefully physical sales will pick up, and let it climb again.
All I Ever Wanted is steady at 33 for another week. It's back up to 30 on iTunes. The Deluxe version and Breakaway join it in the Pop Chart at 68 and 87 respectively. AIEW is 15 on Pop.
Edit: Oh, and tonight on Australian Idol there was this big scene where they had "Breakaway" play and it's bounced up to 60 on the Pop chart. Gotta love TV placings.

I'm loving every concert review this era- it goes to show what a performer she is : Grandstand review: Kelly Clarkson, the original 'American Idol'The second and final Saturday night of the 2009 Iowa State Fair was a star-studded evening. Kelly Clarkson, the original "American Idol" winner, entertained a crowd of 5,800 at the Grandstand as part of her "All I Ever Wanted" summer mini-tour that has been stopping at fairs across the country. It was Clarkson's debut performance in Des Moines. The first and only time she performed in Iowa was in 2003 during a small, mostly Midwest tour that followed her "Idol" win. Clarkson kept her energy high and voice strong throughout her set, with the help of an 11-piece backing band and angst-ridden lyrics. "If I can't have you, then I don't want anyone," she sang amid thumping pop rhythms and flashing strobe lights during "If I Can't Have You." "I hope the ring you gave her turns her finger green," she sang, shaking her hand in the air during "Never Again," which she called the "best breakup song ever." Clarkson, who confessed she never sang an acoustic version of "Hazel Eyes" on tour, performed it with just two backing acoustic guitars and the help of her tenor- and soprano-voiced young fans who knew all the words. "Well, you all sing well in Iowa!" she said after the sing-along. Clarkson also sang a smoky, soulful cover of Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight," which she called her favorite song of the set. She first sang it while growing up in Texas. Prior to singing "Cry," a rock ballad off her latest album, "All I Ever Wanted," Clarkson slipped on a yellow T-shirt that read "I love Iowa," with University of Iowa mascot Herky below the slogan. "I love my shirt, thank you!" she said. Clarkson was not the only star of the evening. Singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson had quite a fan base too, drawing his largest Des Moines audience to date. Hutchinson opened the 2009 Nitefall on the River series on June 11 at Simon Estes Riverfront Amphitheater, when he performed a headlining show for 1,545. In November, he played for 300 fans at People's Court. Hutchinson, who's touring off and on with Clarkson this summer, played hits like "Rock and Roll" and "OK, It's Alright With Me," both off of his 2008 album "Sounds Like This." Hutchinson hit a mix of soul and rock, jamming out on his keyboard or guitar and adding some freestyle moves. His vocals were earthy and clear, yet hip. His style was mature beyond his 28 years, even sporting khaki pants, a striped button-down shirt and a tie during his set. Clarkson ended the evening with her No.1 single, "My Life Would Suck Without You." Although the upbeat love song was not directed at the Grandstand audience, it was clear that the crowd, which gave her a standing ovation, was happy to be part of Clarkson's life, at least for one night. www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20090822/STATEFAIR/90822033/-1/NEWS04

^^^ Whew- that was unbelievable, successfully tackling a country standard while injecting into it her trademark smokey, bluesy, soulful vocals (the sexy horns don't hurt either, lol) ! That is yet another reason for which I dub Kelly the "vocal chameleon" since I find her to be the queen the versatility among all female contemporary vocalists.
The quality of Annie Lennox that Kelly referred to in Meester's video post (#343) of "not going to you" but rather "drawing you in" is exactly what Kelly does when she sits there stripped away in her acoustic section. That quality always impresses me because very few artists possess the vocals or if they do, do not possess that "story-telling" ability that the great emoters so. With the latter type of artist, it is easily to lose attention to the lyrics, vocals, etc. With the former type of artist (great emoter), one can't help but latch on to every lyric, every vocal, like a good book or good movie. It is this very quality that drives me to purchasing a ticket to see that very artist live.

I was at the Iowa show and Kelly was amazing. The funniest part of the night was Kelly putting on the I Love Iowa shirt. The shirt was really tight on her and she joked that it was the first time her boobs were too big for a shirt.
