You haven't even heard it. ONE person says everything sounds autotuned (out of all the reviews, ONE person) and people start tripping and saying the whole album is autotuned? Sounds like dramaticking to me. Eh, you're probably right. ;) I probably am overreacting a little bit. I just don't want to think of an album completely filled with Auto-Tune; I guess that thought made me a little crazy. Like any Mariah album, I'll enjoy some songs and dislike others, so it won't be much different. My comment about the vocal surgery still stands, however. |

Wasn't it Black Summers who posted Mariah had her nodule removed last year? I am not saying he lied since he said someone reliable told him that but now, I do not think that actually happened.
Hopefully after this album, Mariah will think about it. Have a baby, have a nodule surgery and come back after two years.

Wasn't it Black Summers who posted Mariah had her nodule removed last year? I am not saying he lied since he said someone reliable told him that but now, I do not think that actually happened. Hopefully after this album, Mariah will think about it. Have a baby, have a nodule surgery and come back after two years. That was never proven true or false, though most people think the latter. Unless she did it last summer, she hasn't really had the opportunity. It takes a while to heal, and she probably wouldn't record a whole album with healing vocal chords. Then again, that might explain the Auto-Tune.  |

We're just discussing the review, just like mostly everyone else has done with the other ones. It's part of the fun IMO. I will not make a final judgment of the album until I hear it, but it's ok to hypothesize. This will certainly not diminish my excitement nor hold me from buying the album. |

The performance was okay. Not sure if it will make people run and buy the song, but it's not as horrible as some people here mentioned.
I love when she did the 'so oh oh oh' part in whistle note at the end.

I think a lot of you misunderstood what they ment by digtial. If you listen to the both albums from the dreams they are very digtial sounding and it has nothing to do with autotunes. He has thing for producing music that has very 80's feel that is very computerized.

There have been no "dramatics" in this thread (yet); someone who isn't a fan of auto-tune simply stated his concern that it would be used throughout most of the album. It's not like anyone said "Oh NO! Auto-tune!?!! Mariah is over, the voice is gone, she has to result to auto-tune to be able to even make it through one song!! Woah is me!!" That would be an example of a dramatic reaction. |

^^ Dude, seriously! Your last several posts have been more about arguing and tearing down people's opinion than discussing about Mariah. I'm not saying that you're a hater. Heck, you're far from that. You're probably one of the most logical poster in this thread. but you really don't need to show it off as often as you did . What's wrong with assuming things up to this point? many are assuming HATEU is going to be a killer track, many are assuming IWKWLI is going to be great (including myself), some are assuming The Dream produced the whole album, and so on and so on. It's just that, assumptions that make us wonder what the final product will sound like.
I definitely don't see any problem with that. Now, arguing about whether the reactions were dramatic or not IS dramatic LOL

Assuming all the songs are autotuned based on one person's words is a bit dramatic. Dramatic? No. Presumptuous? Perhaps. However (based on reviews from the 6 track preview session), it isn't too far fetched to believe Mariah has a newly ignited interest in auto-tune. Leave it up to someone in this thread to turn conversations into something personal (seems to be very typical). Look, when I see someone comment on something I disagree with or in a way I disagree with, I will say respond. It's sort of my right, just as it is any other member's. I don't post here to win some popularity contest so I don't understand why anyone would be under the impression I actually care if they approve my actions or not. As far as "cooler heads prevail", well I don't know who you could possibly be referring to. ;) |

I haven't argued anyone's opinion about the quality of Mariah or her upcoming album but just when they feel the need to personally involve people into discussions ("People aka these certain members are being so dramatic", "seems to be the usual subjects spreading negativity!" etc). This thread deals with Mariah and her upcoming album; we all should be able to leave our personal opinions of members out of the discussion. |

Well. thing is those are not from the "live feed" but if you go to the iTunes Store and you right click on the column headers of the Top Songs chart, make sure Popularity is selected on the menu that pops up :)

Phew! For a second I thought I'm gonna have to deal with two pages of arguments of who has a cooler head or what is dramatic and yada yada.
Glad that Obsessed is holding on in itunes. Hopefully AI will be better today. What are the chances of her having a good AI update over the weekend? (I know usually we won't get good updates over the weekends for most artists)
