In the UK MAOW had a wide release, TV Spots, front page of the news paper ads and it was a flop. Bandslam made more in the UK.

^LMAO, relax. It's not that serious. Yea, alot is riding on 'Beastly' to do well since 'Bandslam' flopped plus CBS Films needs a hit desperately but it won't be the end of the world if it ends up flopping. I'm sure Vanessa will still be able to find work plus she still has 'Sucker Punch'.
But honestly, I don't see 'Charlie St. Cloud' as much of a threat. 'Beastly' has the upperhand right now since it has a nice following thanx to all the promo they've been doing on facebook & twitter. Also Beastly's trailer is getting alot of positive feedback. CSC doesn't even have a trailer out yet, not to mention all the date changes.
My only thing is the media will probably play up the whole Zac vs. Vanessa thing and if Vanessa doesn't come out on top she'll be seen as the "loser".

Obviously it will not flop like "Bandslam", nothing can flop like "Band.." but it will not do so good like I was expecting... Obviously Zac has a lot more power than Vanessa and no matter how bad this movie is, his fans will go to see it(and other people) Again with the SP thing.......... Ok we got it! She has a movie with Zack something, big deal! I hate when her fans have so much faith on this movie(I know it will do more then just "good" but she is not the only star on this movie.) Plus SP is only out in 2011(maybe 2010), until then what??? Nobody wants to hire an actress that cannot carry a movie(even with NPH on it) And no I cannot relax! That was supposed to be her breakout-from stupid disney- role!

^You're seriously working yourself up for no reason. We can't tell the future so anything can happen. We just have to wait it out and see. No need to be so damn negative.
I personally don't care if Zac's movie does better opening week than 'Beastly' just as long as 'Beastly' performs well. The good news is Matt Damon's movie that was supposed to come out July 30th has been pushed back and his movie would have been much more of a threat to 'Beastly' than Zac's.
& the reason why her fans bring up SP alot is because it is a HUGE deal. He isn't just Zack something, it's Zack Snyder and it's his first original piece and it's a highly anticpated movie. Of course Vanessa fans are gonna hype it up. The fact that Vanessa was able to book a movie like 'Sucker Punch' so soon after leaving disney is something to gloat about IMO.

I don't care if Zac's movie does better. Really I don't! But no way "Beastly" will do well, with ZAC'S movie premieres in the same day. Plus it's not only a box office thing. I can see the "V VS. Zac" war and I don't want it to happen. The madia and people will focus more on their personal life - who can bring more people to see his\her movie- And when zac's clearly will win this "war " I can see the bashing that V will get. I know this Zack thing is amazing, but we only getting it in 2011\2010.

So According to your logic it's not possible for fans of zanessa to see both films?
just chill. have a bit of PMA. All that matters is that Beastly makes CBS films a PROFIT. It does not matter is Zac film does better in the 1st week all that matters is that Beastly makes cbs films money at the end of the day.

The media making it a Vanessa vs. Zac thing could actually be a good thing as it would give both films some publicity. Both films sorta have the same demographic which worries me a little but all that matters is that 'Beastly' makes CBS films a profit as suzyolu stated.

Again, I don't care if "Beastly" will not be number 1(honestly I never expected it to be number 1), But obviously as V's fan I want it to be at least number 3 and even better number 2. I want it to earn at least 17(+)m in the first week, but now it is not going to happen!!! Plus like I said before I'm not only angry because of the box office.....

Relax...I'm ticked too.
Just because CStC has Zac doesn't mean that its automatically going to win at the box office.
Have a little faith.
First of all, CStC doesn't even have a poster/teaser trailer/trailer out yet. Plus its rumored to be going through re-shoots. Promo hasn't even started for this movie. Most people have no idea that its even coming out except for Zac's fans.
Look at all the promo that Rob's movie Remember Me got at the box office and it flopped in the US. It ended it run with 18 million dollars in the US. While Zac had 17 Again do well in the US, he was basically playing an adult "Troy Bolton" and it came out shortly after HSM3. By the time that CStC comes out it will be over 2 years post his last movie at the US box office.
Another thing to remember is that CStC is a romantic drama and unless they are based on Nicholas Sparks books, there is not guarantee that they will do well. Plus the demographic for them is a lot smaller than the demographic for Beastly. Plus you need to remember that Beastly is based off a fairytale and tons of people will be interested to see the movie based off that alone.
Beastly on the other hand has a lot of positive buzz before it right now. It's getting tons of positive promo right now and the reaction to the trailer has been really positive. The cast is already starting promo right now and MTV has been really pimping the movie. Plus a guy who is working on the MTV Movie Awards admitted on twitter that he is filming some promo stuff for Beastly. MTV always showcases 5 movies during the MTV Movie Awards and I'm will to bet that Beastly will be one of them.
Plus this competion will bring up more press for both of the movies. I'm going to hate the comparisons (and I'm sure Zac/Vanessa will too) but it will bring more attention to the movies.
Now as far as Bandslam goes, pratically everyone in the entertainment studio knows that Summit is a joke studio and that the only thing keep it afloat is the Twilight franchise. Pratically all of their movies have flopped hard. Plus tons of critics alike said that the failure of Bandslam wasn't V's fault and that Summit f-cked it up.
Now as far as SP goes...
Its a Zack Snyder movie. It's going to do well. Legit movie buff sites are already spazzing about the movie. People working on the movie have admitted over Twitter that the movie is amazing. Plus its in 3D...its going to do over 200 million at the US box office alone.
As far as V's future movies go, she most likely has another role going on at WB and she was see with a piece of a script that seems to be from a movie being done by Sony.

I want "Beastly" era to be only V's - if you get what I mean?! But now this is not going to happen! + I do care about BO numbers, but that's because I really want her to succeed and now it is her opportunity, I really think her career depends on it. "Remember Me" is such a good movie! Stupid Summit!!!! I realy really really hope you are right! I want this movie to make at least 17(+)M in the 1st week!

OK guys, if this is true, you can stop worrying about how good "Beastly" does. Look at the name in red in this photo: Apparently, the scrip she picked up is for a movie called "Premium Rush". Written by David Koepp and John Kamps, and produced by Gavin Polone ("Zombieland"), the movie is in it's early production stage, but Sony wants it to be released as soon as posible. The press is already hysteric about the film, drooling over they keyboards and saying how they can't way to see it. I'd probably say taht it's a sure thing, since we have seen her picking up that single sheet last thursday, and yesterday she went to the same studio to pick up the whole script (she crashed her car while leaving). Seems like V keeps doing some MAJOR moves! SOURCES: www.variety.com/article/VR1118011200.html?categoryid=13&cs=1www.cinematical.com/2009/11/12/david-koepp-premium-rush/

^that was the Sony movie I was talking about...
I don't think she is really old enough to play a cop yet. I'm personally hoping for the bike messenger and a really big named action star (A-list) to play the bad cop. Plus Vanessa has mentioned tons of times that she love cycling class at her gym.

^Thanks... There has been a bunch of things that I haven't updated yet. Rent Castwww.theatermania.com/los-angeles/news/04-2010/aaron-tveit-skylar-astin-vanessa-hudgens-wayne-bra_26486.htmlI love the cast. I'm not really all that shocked about JT. He was rumored as Roger for the movie, but the producers wanted to have as many of the stage actors as possible. Wayne Brady is really talented and I think he will do an amazing job as Collins. And Tracie Thoms was actually in the movie version of Rent and went on to star as the same character on Broadway. Vanessa has a good cast to support her. I'm excited. Premium Rush starting casting? twitter.com/prodweekNow if Vanessa is involved in the movie, I think she will most likely be playing the love interest. The good thing is that if she was interested in doing this movie, then she most likely wants to film something really soon. Plus, I hope her teams gets her another role before Beastly is released. I'm kind of interested in who the cop is going to be. PS: Vanessa's rumored to be the August covergirl for Glamour.

^If Vanessa is infact involved in 'Premium Rush' then I hope it's announced soon. I'm pretty sure she is since the movie begins filming in mid-July so the casting must be in the final stages. It would be great for her to star opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt too.
& I hope she snags atleast 2 mag covers for 'Beastly' promo and maybe a photoshoot for a men's magazine *crosses fingers*

^She probably will...
the August issue of Glamour (the issue she is rumored for) comes out on July 6th...
it would be good if she lands a cover closer to the release of Beastly to drive up some more press for her an the movie
I kind of want Vanessa and Neil to land a cover of Entertainment Weekly for Beastly and Rent promo

If ever she's in the movie, sh is probably playing Vanessa, the love interest. Just like what you said in the THforums, Erin. And there's this big "VANESSA" written there.

^Well, the good thing is that movie is being made by Columbia Pictures (which is owned by Sony) and Sony is distributing Beastly internationally Based on the fact that she is auditioning for a movie that starts filming at the end of the summer means that she most likely wants to film something soon Vanessa's at the Nylon Young Hollywood Cover PartyLove her in purple and I love that her hair is up. Her bun is a little too tight (she complained that she had a headache :( ) and I don't like the style of the dress but I'm happy that she suprised me.

The Nylon party wasn't one of my favorite looks :( Her shoes were hot but I didn't like the hair or the dress. The style of the dress is so wierd and she looks sort of pregnant in it. I will give her credit for trying something new though.
I'm sure she'll reedem herself at the MTV Movie Awards haha.

I kinda like that look. She looks more mature. But that's just me, cuz I'm tired of the curly hair.
I really want Vanessa to get the part. I mean, come on, another action movie? This girl is so awesome.

Looks like the CSC trailer is out. Hmm. I don't know. It's decent. It's like the same thing with My Sister's Keeper last year. The movie was basically made to be released during Fall, but they released it during the Summer. Gah. Epic fail.
>:( I just got from the TH forums! I can't believe they're changing the release date for BEASTLY!!!! WTF!!
