"Sucker Punch" choreographer's confirmed to be Paul Becker, who also did choreography for "Chicago". Seems like music is the backbone of the film, and it will trigger the action scenes. On a side note, I wouldn't be surprised if V ends up signing with Warner Records. It seems like a natural step. I wouldn't mind at all, they actually invested quite a lot on Ashley, and she got some good material. I mean, she worked with JR and Ryan Tedder (and I'd love Vanessa to have a Tedder-like ballad).

^Eh. I'd be really upset if she signed with Warner Bros. to be honest. Just look at the way they handled Tisdale's two albums. They take waaay too long to follow up singles (similar to HR) and Vanessa doesn't need to go through that again. & she could easily work with JR and Ryan Tedder without WB lol. I personally don't want her working with JR again unless it's completely different from the mess that was "Sneakernight" & I'm down with a Tedder ballad just as long as he doesn't recycle the same formula he does with all his ballads. Epic or Jive would be my top choices. I originally wanted her to sign with Def Jam/Island Def Jam but they honestly don't care about any female artist other than Rihanna. Just look at the way they mis-handled Amerie's latest effort. I'd settle for Interscope too. & as for the 'Beastly' poster ... I really like it but it gives me Twilight-vibes for some reason. I really hope CBS films doesn't market it as the "next Twilight" cause we all saw what happened with 'Bandslam' when Summit tried to pass it off as HSM 2.0 ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

^Most critics in the industry consider Bandslam to be one of the worst marketing jobs done by a movie studio this year. Plus Summit didn't even try to correct their mistakes when they saw how well the movie was doing with adults at test screenings. They decided to cut their losses basically instead of trying to salvage the movie. The thing with Bandslam is that they didn't even try to promote it to the right audience. They tried to sell it to little kids and they made the poster really cheesy. They basically alienated the adults that would be interested (changing the name from Will to Rock On (the director apparently refused to have his name on the movie if they used Rock On) to Bandslam not to mention the HSM 2.0 poster) and made it look like a rip off. Plus they didn't really advertise it on any of the major television networks and I never once saw the trailer before other movies at the theater. (PS: The Hurt Locker currently has a 98 on Rotten Tomatos and most critics consider it to be the best picture of the year but Summit totally screwed it over and most people didn't even know the movie existed. But they are at least correcting their mistake by actually submitting it for some awards. With Bandslam, they just don't care. The DVD is being released in mid-March which is around the same time the New Moon DVD comes out, so you can guess which one Summit will be promoting. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) ) The Beastly poster isn't too bad and while it does give me some Twilight vibes its still really eye catching because its holographic. As long as they don't make it really obvious that they want to rip of Twilight then I don't have a problem. The only reason most women even went to see that movie is because of the male eye candy. It's why I'm glad that Alex is cute. I think Bandslam would have done better if it had some male eye candy. The most important thing is that CBS doesn't misrepresent the movie. CBS currently has the Extrodinary Measures trailer on constant rotation on CBS apparently which is good considering that CBS is the most watched network in the US. Plus I just noticed that CBS actually has the Super Bowl this year (which is really good considering that 40 million+ households tune into the game every year) so I'm expecting some TV spots. As far as labels go...I agree with you about Def Jam. Plus Vanessa may want to go a different way musically after a while and I don't think Def Jam would be the best label for that. She does need to get on with one of the big 4 record companies because it would help her world wide promo. I would perfer one of the Universal or Sony labels. There was that Beyonce rumor, so she could sign under Columbia but that rumor is probably not true anymore. Vanessa just needs one that gives her good promo and radio singles. Radio seems to support her radio singles when she has a good single, radio interviews, and tv promo.

I completely agree! Especially with the WW promo cause that was something HR never did for her.
& I had no idea CBS has the Super Bowl this year, some TV spots during that would be amazing! I'm also crossing my fingers she presents at the Grammy's this year.

happy b-day girl... don't get too drunk ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0270.gif) apparently she's having a pretty big party... there have been tons of tweets and Monique has posted a few pictures on her twitter as for the businness meeting... must have been pretty important considering that she went out on her birthday...and it looks like she left carrying either a contract or a new script...either way, it must be pretty important...maybe its related to that last business meeting she had at Warner Brothers a month or so ago

^I wouldn't hold my breath. She seems 100% focused on her acting career rite now.
On her birthday she was seen leaving a business meeting with what looked to be a script in her hands.
I'm 99.9% positive she's planning on filming another movie next year. Then hopefully after that she signs with a new label and begins recording for an album to be released in 2011 sometime.

On her birthday she was seen leaving a business meeting with what looked to be a script in her hands. I got some HQ pictures, and this is what I found out:
The papers were from WME (William Morris Endeavor) Entertainment, which is a talent agency. They represent every kind of artist (among them, Anne Hathaway & Britney Spears). So it's probably a contract. The thing is, V was already signed to them as an actress, but not as a musician. So there're to possibilities:
a - Due to her success, she has reworked her contract and has a new agreement.
b - Now, she has left her music career in their hands too (which I'd say it's a good move considering how well they managed her as an actress).

^I agree that its a contract most likely. But to tell you the truth it could be any sort of document that WME, her management, or she wants to keep private. To tell you the truth, it could be for a number of things. A new movie, a new endorsement, or a new record label...anything that would require her to sign some sort of contract. I doubt that its for a new label though. I was recently watching Selena's youtube video of her signing her HR contract and that thing was the size of a dictionary. here is a candid of her taken in late December of 2008 and her manager is carrrying something very similar ![](http://i49.tinypic.com/208jrf5.jpg) now if it was a contract in the December candid, then her next known project that she signed for was Sucker Punch and news of that was first leaked in early March 2009. Now based on the fact that they were finalizing the cast at that time (IMO, it was obvious that Vanessa and Abbie were signed based on the fact they were the only two to attend the Watchmen premiere), Vanessa had to have signed her contract way before March. IMO she had to have been most likely finalizing her deal in late 2008 and into early 2009. so based on that info (and the fact that she had a meeting at Warner Brothers in early November in their developement department), I think its safe to say that it is most likely for another movie

It's probably for a new movie. About your other comment I really hope it has nothing to do with the movie "Back Reads" (roads - whatever it is) because this movie\book sounds REALLY bad & bbv already proved to us that she can take good rolls(sp, bs, beastly).

I've just read the plot. It sounds SO dramatic. She hasn't done drama yet, so you know, maybe se wants to have a movie of each genre out by 2011!

^ I forgot to add: On the side of the book it reads ["Back Reads" or something like that. Maybe some movie title? the closest movie we could find on Team Hudgens is a movie called "Back Roads" that is based on the book of the same name ironically there is a character in the book named Amber that is 16 and while the character is young, you honestly need to have an actress that is older but still looks young enough to play her here are some spoilers about Amber highlight the quote box to read Now, if this is the movie... then I imagine they must have an actor in mind to play Harvery. Since the story revolves around Harvey (Amber drives the plot though ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif) ), they would need a good actor to play him. I can't really think of any now, but it would have to be a known name. As for getting a better dramatic role... I don't know about you guys but Amber is a pretty dramatic character and I don't see Vanessa getting a much better role than Amber until she proves herself more dramatically. I mean just look at the spoiler I posted above about what Amber does and say that Vanessa could find a better dramatic role with her short resume with good people behind it. Amber would be a perfect character for her to play, especially if she is in the hands of the right director. Plus it would allow everyone to see V's sexy and b***hy sides at one time. PS: my dream dramatic role for Vanessa to play would be a drug addict

Yea, I wasn't gonna bring back 'Back Roads' since it's only speculation rite now but since it's already been brought up ... ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif) I really want this role for her! Amber's character is something people would never expect from Vanessa not to mention the book was part of Oprah's book club ... just imagine V on Big O's couch promoting the movie ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif) But as I said b4 it's only speculation at this point ... I'd die if it ends up being true though.

Whatever movie she is doing has to be at Warner Brothers because she was spotted there today. Ironically she had a meeting in the development department in early November. And now she is back and was spotted a few days ago with what looks like a contract. ![](http://i50.tinypic.com/359wuwj.png)

^well, whatever it says doesn't really matter because I'm pretty sure she is getting read to sign on to a movie or she is already signed
I was kind of hesitant about "Back Roads" because its currently 'owned' by Infinity Media which is the same company that did Capote...its not with a major studio and she has been in and out of Warner Brothers a lot lately. If she did "Back Roads", it wouldn't get distributed very wide and would only get noticed if the performances were top notch. I would love for her to play a character like Amber though, but she might not be ready yet.
The movie that I want Vanessa in is actually being made at Warner Brothers according to baseline. The movie is the new Tim Burton movie called Dark Shadows. It's supposed to start filming in the fall of 2010.
But either way, I'm sure that Warner Brothers probably wants to take advantage of her increased fame from Sucker Punch and they probably want her to have another movie out in late 2011 with its trailer in front of Sucker Punch, so she would need to film something in 2010.
In other news...
I want to see the Beastly trailer in front of Kick Ass. Lionsgate is also a production company for Beastly (along with CBS Films) and Lionsgate is distributing Kick Ass.
