Haha nah, she just likes anything that will put her to sleep. In all seriousness, perhaps Iβm being too harsh on them. Though for an 8 minute song, throwing in a key change or two for the main riff would have been nice. IMO the Freemasons have been slumming it lately and itβs a shame considering how much I enjoyed their previous work. At least their newest release, Pegasus (while not amazing), demonstrates that they have a fair idea of what the kids are listening to these days...even though they didn't chose to use it for this song.
Edit: Had another listen...it's just so very blah

just digitally delivered:
Million Dollar Bill (Frankie Knuckles Director's Club Cut) 7:07 Million Dollar Bill (Frankie Knuckles Directors Dub) 6:58 Million Dollar Bill (Freemasons Instrumental) 8:09 Million Dollar Bill (Freemasons Club Mix - Cajjmere Wray Remastered Mix) 8:09 Million Dollar Bill (Freemasons Radio Mix - Cajjmere Wray Remastered Mix) 3:48 Million Dollar Bill (Cajjmere Wray's Freemasons Ultimix Mixshow) 6:23
The last one is an actual PROPER mixshow with good 32-32 intro & outro beats (unlike the previous Freemasons "mixshow" that was promo'd) and I assume it'll be appearing on Ultimix's next issue. Frankie Knuckles mix is brilliant - very faithful to the original production. His dub is almost identical in production style, but has only a few of the chorus vocals looped constantly throughout the mix. The remaining mixes are kind of puzzling....the radio-length one is 100% identical to the Freemasons Radio Mix that was already sent out. However, while the club-length one is the exact same time length and structure, it has markedly different EQ'ing/mastering - lots more "kick" to the beats in most parts. I did a side-by-side comparison of the two 8:09 length mixes (the earlier one, and then this new one) and by doing some filtering/subtraction I got an exact fix on what beats were added to give some "oomph" to the original Freemasons Mix. Essentially, this new 8:09 mix is an exact carbon copy of the first one, except remastered to give the beats a lot more bass and power, probably to sound better on a big-room club sound system.

is that not kind of bizarre? i've never heard of one dj remastering a just-released mix by another remix team.....if the label had a problem with the freemasons mix, why not as them to fix it? surel they are capable.....someone please explain this to me. and where is rauhofer's mix?!!?!?

The Frankie Knuckles mix is stunning. Very true to the original. According to his website, DJ Paulo remixed "I Look To You." but paulo has done tons and tons of terrible unofficial mixes. way more than he has done official ones.........

For those who care, I did 3 mashups for this song which can be heard here: www.sendspace.com/file/2rvy2f - full versions are also available here: dramamix.com/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=60 with extended 32/32 intro & outro for DJ mixing. They're all pretty short & sweet as far as time length goes, but I'm especially proud of the Johnny Vicious one which I gave an actual BEATS intro, unlike the released version of the original song which only had synth & light beats for the first minute. When I'm spinning live, I need those heavy bass beats to hear if my two songs are lining up properly. Anyway, feedback welcome - happy Monday to everyone =D

I actually am very surprised to say that I like Peter's mix a lot. It's really nice. I hope he keeps proving me wrong in the future 'cause this is a cool mix.

I'm digging the Warren Rigg Club Mix for this. Love the disco flourishes and those handclaps. Works for me.

My reaction is exactly the oppositte I expected it to be. I found Warren Rigg's mix to be dull and uninspired, but Peter's mix was actually really interesting! I wish it had the full vocals though - but I really liked what I heard as far as the chords and synths.

i def think freemasons delivered the best mix here. peter's is lifeless and totally wrong for the song and warren's def does not have the ooph a moran/wrigg mix would have had. congrats to freemasons. i would have liked to hear more disco strings though....
