It's still a good song in all respects, but most of you posted that Lil' Jon added his impure crunkness to the ballad. I'm not really that impressed altogether with his rap part. Usher's vocals are superb as always and Luda is easily understandable rap-wise. Perfect articulation. However, our urban outlet is playing this minus the Lil' Jon rap. People calling in droves just to hear the song. Now I'm getting tired of that damn song!

Now on the radio all I've been hearing is the version with Lil' Jon's rap
It lost its bullet on Urban...is it really done, or is it just because of the holidays? I wouldnt think its just because the holidays...
Has it officially gone for adds? I didnt think so...and I guess that it has no video is hurting it

I've heard about the remix with Pitbull but not a female version. Doesn't surprise me in the least that one is out there though.
I really like this song...it's always in my head...good song...I hope they dont wait forever to make a video, like with Over & Over, by the time the video came out it was almost pointless because the song was so played out.
but it's so annoying, z103 calls it "Friends and Lovers", when CLEARLY in the song, they say LOVERS AND FRIENDS...and its even on the damn CD that way.
Im going to e-mail them and tell them off...LOL it just irritates me!

Lovers and Friends (featuring Usher and Ludacris) Over a soul piano riff lifted from the Stylistics "You are Everything," three rappers assail the same theme at three different levels of, well, "discretion" might be the right word ("lust" might be another). Usher cranks up his smooth lover man vibe, Ludacris gets down and clever, and Lil Jon says it straight out: "I've known you for a long time/but f**king never crossed my mind/but tonight I seen somethin' in ya/that makes me want to get wit' ya". All with the greatest respect, of course. The mix of styles and approach is hilarious (all three are engaging in a certain amount of self parody), while the background keeps that soul groove going. Best joke: the slurred pronunciation of the names in the intro and at the end--Oosher, Jon, and Loodacrish--proof that they're not taking any of this seriously. I hate to this say this but Lil' Jon's rap in this song is my favorite part of the song right now. I hated it before but now I like it. It isnt good. In fact, its a terrible rap. But I still like it.

So in other words, "not good, but not bad: not bad, but not good."

Does Mariah's "Anytime You Need a Friend" sample "You Are Everything" as well? Because portions of this song sound similar to hers.

This has hit #1, ending Mario's 5 week reign at #1 on Urban.

I'm pretty sick of this song, but for some reason I can still sing along to it/listen. Another one I heard every 5 minutes on the radio down in FL.
