I knew she would be putting together an album soon. My bet is next fall of 2010.
She now has worked with:
Max Martin
Russ Castella

Fernando Garibay

Yeah, it looks like her next album will be out sometime in 2010 (maybe even earlier than the fall). I kind of wish she would take another extended break to spend time with her kids after the tour ends, but I can't say that I'm not excited for new material so soon.

LOL @ people saying Britney needs a break. She has not done ANY promo for the album since LAST December. She is fine.
I'm thinking her CD may come out next summer. JIVE isn't going to wait another year to release her material if she's recording now AND since 3 is shaping up to be a mega-hit, they need to follow-up the buzz sooner than later. Her name is NOT Jame Foxx or Jesse McCartney.

I hope she releases a new single from a new album in June/July, and release the album in September next year. That sounds too Aguilera-ish. I think Britney's team will probably want to stick to the same strategy they have done with "Womanizer" and "3". Release the song, let it build a week or two worth of airplay and then send it out to Itunes. It seems like September-October are the best months for first single for Britney. Then have the album out in November. |

Doubtful Beyonce has a lot of weeks at # 1 which will mean that she will get more points off of her #1's then Britney will. CIL (8 weeks), BB (9 weeks), SL (5 weeks), CUOI (5 weeks), Irreplaceable (11 weeks). Most of Britney's #1's are only for one week it seems. Womanizer and 3 are only two #1's and they both spent a week at the summit so her #1's don't really compare.
Britney is clearly the best selling female artist of the decade, but I don't think that really matters to Billboard. They seem to be more concerned about the singles these days then anything else. That's why the likes of Fergie and Rihanna has been winning the awards lately.

If the digital era existed back in 00's Britney would have had at least three more #1's to my knowledge. Crazy, Oops! and Toxic would have been #1's easily. Sometimes, Lucky, Slave, Me Against The Music, Everytime and My Prerogative all would have been top tenners.
