I have updated Carrie Underwood's #2s totals to eight with Dirty Laundry. One more runner up hit and she'll tie Tanya Tucker as the female with the most #2 hits.

Because of The Fighter peaked at #2, I have updated TWO artists' #2s totals: Keith Urban now has seven while Carrie Underwood has nine. As a matter of fact, Underwood just kicked Merle Haggard out of the top ten (sacrilegious?). The next #2 hit Underwood will collect will put her in the top five (a heady accomplishment, I'm sure).

Thanks for that prompt reply. One more request---would you please list King George's #2 singles in addition to 'Run' and 'Cowboys Like Us?'

Either I do not how to count or did not update Reba McEntire's standing of having eight #2 hits. Either way, those have been updated for you keeping track at home. Those bridesmaid hits are: 1. Walk On-1990 2. Fallin' Out Of Love-1991 3. Till You Love Me-1995 4. And Still-1995 5. The Fear Of Being Alone-1996-chart wise, her biggest #2 hit! 6. I'd Rather Ride Around With You-1997 7. Because Of You-with Kelly Clarkson-2007 8. Cowgirls Don't Cry-with Brooks & Dunn-2009 Titles 1-7 are on MCA Records. Title 8 is on Arista Records. I thought she would have had more. These are some of her best songs.

So I’ve been going through past Billboard country charts and seeing all these songs that peaked at #2 has got me thinking of a question. Out of all the #2 peaking songs what is everyone’s biggest snubs? Songs that got blocked at #2 but should’ve been a #1. I’ll list mine in this thread later tonight.

Actually, SHeDAISY spent three weeks at #2 while Jo Dee Messina was tops. That should have been Lyric Street's first chart topping hit as a label. That honor belongs to Aaron Tippin with Kiss This that dethroned That's The Way. That became Tippin's third and final chart topping hit. Of course, Rascal Flatts remains the label's most successful act. A chart showing both SHeDAISY's and Tippin's songs: BILLBOARD TOP TEN FOR WEEK ENDING SEPTEMBER 23, 2000: 1. That's The Way-Jo Dee Messina-Curb 2. I WILL...BUT-SHEDAISY-LYRIC STREET 3. It Must Be Love-Alan Jackson-Arista 4. Your Everything-Keith Urban-Capitol 5. What About Now-Lonestar-BNA 6. It's Always Somethin'-Joe Diffie-Epic 7. KISS THIS-AARON TIPPIN-LYRIC STREET 8. Country Comes To Town-Toby Keith-DreamWorks 9. Go On-George Strait-MCA 10. Let's Make Love-Faith Hill and Tim McGraw-Warner Bros. P.S.: What about the two seven week #2s we've seen in our lifetimes? Lesson In Leavin' by Jo Dee Messina. That was blocked by Lonestar's Amazed. I Go Back by Kenny Chesney that could never reach the top because of Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dying.

I was reading through it and seeing some of the older classics by Conway, Loretta, Crystal Gayle, etc being talked about. I’m getting ready to start collecting vinyl records and Conway albums will be a must have for me. Just wondering how hard they are to come across? Studio albums mainly.

I Go Back by Kenny Chesney that could never reach the top because of Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dying. Had Billboard Management stayed with the old chart rule, "I Will... But" would have surely become SheDaisy's very first and only #1 Billboard country hit on September 30, 2000, but they would not have been the very first Lyric Street act to go the distance. Rascal Flatt's "Prayin' for Daylight" would have hit #1 on August 19, 2000. I have info on the old country singles chart method from January 20, 1990 ( the week the new country chart rule went into affect) until January 13, 2001. I had a cousin who worked in country radio at the time. I wish Billboard kept the old chart, which were compiled from National playlists. Could have been a secondary country singles chart. Other former #2 songs what would have hit #1 were Daryle Singletary's " I Let Her Lie" and Suzy Bogguss' "Drive South."

Other former #2 songs what would have hit #1 were Daryle Singletary's " I Let Her Lie" and Suzy Bogguss' "Drive South." Maybe. Maybe not. Rascal Flatts would peak at #3 with their debut single, Prayin' For Daylight. The competition in the top ten was fierce when they peaked. Lee Ann Womack had a five week #1 with I Hope You Dance. She was succeeded by Lonestar, who was hot at the time with their Lonely Grill album with What About Now, which spent four weeks at the top. I am a fan of Prayin' For Daylight. At the time it peaked, SHeDAISY was at #11 with I Will...But and Aaron Tippin's Kiss This was at #28. Yes, Rascal Flatts could have had Lyric Street's first chart topper, but it was not meant to be. A chart and video: BILLBOARD TOP TEN FOR WEEK ENDING JULY 29, 2000: 1. I Hope You Dance-Lee Ann Womack-MCA 2. What About Now-Lonestar-BNA 3. PRAYIN' FOR DAYLIGHT-RASCAL FLATTS-LYRIC STREET 4. Thank you for your reply. This is a good thread. I might be in the minority here, but I preferred the old country chart method vs the new one.

If "What Makes You Country" does end up peaking at #2, it would become the 313th song just in the BDS era to peak at #2. The first song to peak at #2 in the BDS era was "Statue Of A Fool" by Ricky Van Shelton on February 3, 1990. Ricky spent 2 weeks at #2 being blocked from #1 by "Nobody's Home" by Clint Black (who was at #1 for the 3rd and final week) then the next week by "Southern Star" by Alabama. It would be cool just to see what songs blocked #2 songs to see if we agree the song that blocked the #2 peaking song was better or if the #2 song was robbed.

One of my favorite #2 peaking songs from the 80’s is “Miss Emily’s Picture” by John Conlee.
