the hype around him and his debut single/ album is HUGE ... no mater how his non- fans think it's not! :) I didn't say he didn't have buzz. He has buzz. And that will help radio airplay, but not enough such that RCA can sit on their asses and do nothing. Why do you think there's hype in the first place? Because 19 and RCA have been doing their jobs. And I know some of his fans think that the press just happened to be so interested in him that they decided to buzz him up on their own, but it just doesn't work that way, especially since he didn't have this kind of buzz right after Idol ended. I also said I thought it would probably hit so I'm not sure why we're having this convo anyway. lol.

Since when did I call him an industry heavyweight? Dr. Luke and Claude Kelly may have their fair share of flops but they have many many more hits than 99% of the producers in the business. I attached Adam's name with their just because he has a lot of hype right now, not to say he is as good as they are in this business. However, even if I did, so what, his voice is unmatched in todays pop world by any other males. LMAO I double that LMAO. Besides the fact his voice is so autotuned in this track it doesn't matter what his actual vocals sound like.

If you go to AdamOfficial.com you can pre-order the album and get a 320kbps download of FYE right now. It's AMAZING in HQ. It sounds so, so good.

I've listened this song twice already on www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSvR1EQoxPU but I'm not really feeling it yet unfortunately. Of course it's nothing against him or the cover of his album. We need more people like him who take risks. Especially if he's gay and proud of it, he does not have to be gay acting straight. If he wants to be flamboyant and campy, good for him! It's a risk. It may work, it may not, but people who take chances, make a point, make people think and make the world move forward and learn to accept the differences. Anyway.... back to the song. As I was saying, I'm not feeling it yet. The beginning of a song sounds to me like a song made for Britney, but sung by a guy. I'm not feeling much the kinda' 80s-heavy-metal screams mixed with the rest of the song. And the song itself sounds pretty average to me. I hope though it becomes a success for him.

The song is good. I like it. Then again, I like most Dr. Luke tracks.
Not an epic song by any means, but catchy and good enough to start the hype...

Who!? I don't care what his voice sounds like in this song, whether it is autotuned or not, I am only speaking of his voice and vocal talent.

I definitely like this. I think it's a good fit for him. I glad he doesn't do those over-the-top screamy vocals that I can't stand.

Though they aren't pop, Matthew Bellamy, the lead singer of Muse, is an incredible vocal talent. I don't think he has quite the range of Adam (I know Adam can sing higher, but not sure what his lower register is like), but he has a more operatic and musical-theater style voice, and his control and tone are fantastic. Anyway, listened to the single once and it's pretty catchy. His vocal antics at the end are a bit much for me, but it could grow really infectious. The verses are great.

Who!? I don't care what his voice sounds like in this song, whether it is autotuned or not, I am only speaking of his voice and vocal talent. I don't subscribe to the idea that Adam's voice is the absolute best. Does he have incredible range in the upper half of his register? Sure, but I don't think that's the end-all of vocal talent. Range is merely one element. I find his tone to be thin and he often gets flat when he goes low. Is Adam a great singer? Yes. Is he the greatest male singer in pop today? Maybe according to some, but not according to me, and I'm sure not according to many. It's all a matter of preference I suppose. No singer is perfect, and people's ears hear different things. I prefer R&B-style vocalists, whose vocals are often a lot smoother and their tone a lot rounder than Adam's. I also note that Adam's singing technique isn't perfect--he flattens his pallet which probably causes him to use his throat too much when he sings rather than his diaphragm support; that could hurt him down the road. That's also probably why his tone seems thin to me instead of round. You ask a hundred different vocal coaches who has the best male technical voice in pop today and you'll get, probably, 40 or so different responses, depending how you classify pop. I was merely amused when I saw such a definitive, like a fact, statement that Adam's voice is "unmatched" in vocal male pop, when it's so obviously an opinion.

Does anyone else have a problem remembering this song after it's over? I swear I listened to it like 6 times and I was trying to remember it and sing it by myself and I just can't. People keep saying it's catchy, but my brain is not feeling the catchy.

I don't understand why people equate being great with having the ability to hit notes only dogs can hear. His big range is impressive but I think his overuse of his upper register and screechiness is not at all pleasant. In addition to that, his tone is very thin. there is not much texture to his voice at all. I find that far more important than the ability to hit notes that shouldn't even be hit. I agree that he is talented. But he is NOT an obvious best male vocalist.

I do think he is the best male vocalist. Stuff like www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kw1fznPBu6U is absolutely unreal. But he stopped singing like that. :( For Your Entertainment sounds like it will be a hit. It's a bit middle of the road but that's the only dance music that US radio tolerates.

Anyway, about the song, I wish Adam's vocals were not so processed, which is especially pronounced at the beginning. As the song progresses Adams vocals seem to be less processed and more of the real Adam comes through. It has a very catchy beat, so that is a plus since it is a dance tune after all. :)

The song is really good, to my surprise, but I will say this: the chorus isn't nearly as catchy/rememerable as it should be. I'm only pointing this out cause this song will be battling it out with songs like "3" and "Bad Romance" which both have incredibly catchy choruses. Like the "3" chorus has been stuck in my head for the past 2 weeks, even though I don't listen to it that much.

I love the verses and the production and even the (overproduced) vocals.. but I was waiting (vainly) for a huge explosive insanely catchy chorus.

So, last year Archie and Cook didn't receive the same buzz because Jive and RCA - 19 were not doing their jobs? LOL And it seems to me that Adam's buzz was there right after Idol ended.... Missed my point. Look, Adam is weird according to the social norms the media generally feeds people. He gyrates around stage and molests mic stands. 19's job was to get that weird image out to the press. Because it's weird, they picked it up. But had 19 not done it's job, the image wouldn't have been out there the way it is. I never said Adam had NOTHING to do with it. Besides the fact I don't recall Cook or Archie going to paparazzi-laden clubs and stores and restaurants around Hollywood, but Adam does. He does it on purpose--those aren't the best clubs and stores and restaurants, just the ones that get a rep for paparazzi because they don't call the police. Are Cook and Archie like Adam? No. They don't gyrate or molest mic stands. They wouldn't release an album cover with glo-bright makeup and blue hair. They conform more to what the media sees as "normal," so their respective management companies don't have the opportunity to push this strange image (nor do I think Cook or Archie would want to go that particular route). They push their music, their charity work, etc. instead. And that doesn't garner as much media attention because the press likes flash and weirdness. But their management companies are still doing their jobs, and they did have buzz last year.

I gave the song the one listen that it will get from me. Very disappointed in his vocals. If that's what he's going to sound like on record, major disappointment. With that said, it will probably be a big hit. I don't like the new BEPs either and we know how that turned out for them. I will say that the song itself isn't nearly as catchy as Laga Gaga's singles (for comparison purposes only).
Again, I think his first album will be a pretty big success. 2-3 million in the US probably. But a long term career I'm just not sure about. It's always fun to check back with an AI contestant in five years and see if they are still around.
