SL was only big in the UK. It did ok in Europe, but was her least successful single from this era here. If I Were A Boy, Halo and Sweet Dreams are much bigger. David & Kelly's song reached #1 in the European chart, and was a much bigger hit, it deserves to win that category. that would be because SL wasn't a single there. It took off on it's own and got a half official after the fact release in the UK. It wasn't supposed to rule like it did, not even in the US. IIWAB was a monster in Europe though an it held off SL by in large but it still had a large impact, especially considering it wasn't an actual single. Perhaps one of the most well-known album tracks of all time in Europe.

Beyoncé Completes Our 2009 Performer Line-Up! We’ve just announced that Beyoncé is going to take the stage at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards and perform her hit ‘Sweet Dreams!’ The international superstar is also up for a staggering four EMAs and has a history of stunning live performances (the 2008 EMAs’ ‘If I Were a Boy’ immediately comes to mind, of course). But that’s not all for Ms. Knowles. We can now confirm that the global music video premiere of her latest single, ‘Video Phone’, featuring none other than 5-time EMA nominee Lady Gaga, will air immediately following the show on MTV and right here on this site! We also round out our presenters list by announcing that internationally-celebrated actor and singer David Hasselhoff, hip hop legend Lil Kim, Ukrainian heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko and actor Jesse Metcalfe will be handing out awards tomorrow at the O2 World. Tune-in at 20:00 CET on Thursday right here to see all the star arrivals during the 2009 EMA: Red Carpet Show! Then watch the LIVE show on MTV or right here – followed immediately by the world premiere of ‘Video Phone!’ ema.mtv.tv/news/beyonce_to_perform
