Wow?!? Amerie is 100% talented! Just not accepted by the mindless mass of today!

Wow?!? Amerie is 100% talented! Just not accepted by the mindless mass of today! i was talking about the producers who use samples and ruin classics instead of coming up with original music.

It sucks that the first two singles 'seemed' to be on track to being a hit (positive buzz), but then they ended up stalling on radio by the time a video hit.
I hope Trey can help Amerie get a hit with this.

My only concern is that Trey already has had 5 singles out on Urban this year and Amerie's struggled with 2. Hopefully some good comes out of this. Pretty Brown, help my girl out!!

This is a hit, imo, I'm pretty sure it will fare well on the radio.

Another problem I addressed in another thread is the male dominated Urban format. Anything with T-Pain, Akon, Drake, Lil Wayne, Kanye, Eminem, and whoever else is going to rise fast. The only females who have done well on Urban this year are Beyonce, Keri, and Mariah.

The point raised above about the male-domination in R&B is interesting. I have not thought about that. Nevertheless, I do not know what the solution is for Amerie. She seems to have a strong promotional team behind her, but it is not tranferring to commercial success for some reason. Hopefully, Trey Songz can help her out.

This song is gonna be a SMASH! on Urban and Rythmic. The more mature audience are gonna love the Mint Condition sample so I expect it to do well on Urban AC aswell.

Is Trey the go-to R&B guy now? Amerie, Mariah, and Toni have worked with him within the past month, and I'm sure there's more.

I'm thinking Island/Def Jam is holding off on "Heard 'Em All" until she gets a bona fide hit on Urban and Rhythmic. They seem to want to recapture the success from her first 2 albums, so I think they pulled HEA from radio to make room for this song.

I know it was so weird, DJs seemed to LOVE Heard'Em All and it was doing really well, but all of a sudden it was nowhere to find.

Well, Amerie needs momentum and visibility, some serious radio support. Why R U and Heard Em All easily made it to the top 40, but then stalled.

As much as I want to hate this song, it's growing on me. Like the mid uptempo vibe to it.

Why R U and Heard Em All easily made it to the top 40, but then stalled. Exactly. I found it really weird that them both started out really great with a 200+ bullet and then just died. Anyway I hope it'll be different with this song. QCI AI: 2.117 Spins: 339 ALT: 1 Urban: 252 UAC: 3 RHY: 83
