If Luke hits #1 with "What Makes You Country" he''l take the lead. I'm very interested in seeing the decade end charts and seeing what was the #1 song of the 2010's. I know as far as being the biggest #1 it was "Die A Happy Man" by Thomas Rhett. Whether it ends up being the #1 song of the decade or not is another story.

I have added Luke Combs as the 132nd artist in country music to have at least five #1 hits. Those chart toppers are:
Hurricane-2017 When It Rains It Pours-2017 One Number Away-2018 She Got The Best Of Me-2018 Beautiful Crazy-2019
Congratulations, Luke!

Does anyone happen to know how many singles have spent at least four or more weeks at #1 since January of 2010 besides that year's 'Consider Me Gone', 'Why Don't We Just Dance', and 'The House That Built Me'? Since all of those smashes were released the previous summer, Rhett's DAHM could very well wind up as the decade's biggest single as was previously stated.

Since the Billboard decade began (since December, 2009), there have been twelve singles to spend at least four weeks at #1. Ready? 1. Need You Now-Lady Antebellum-Capitol-2009-5 weeks 2. Consider Me Gone-Reba McEntire-Valory-2010-4 3. Why Don't We Just Dance-Josh Turner-MCA-2010-4 4. The House That Built Me-Miranda Lambert-Columbia-2010-4 5. onebuffalo Do you know how many weeks total that “Honey Bee” by Blake Shelton spent on the chart? I know it was 4 weeks at #1, I’m wanting to know total weeks on the chart. For some reason Billboard won’t show it on that song.

Thank you for correcting the oversight! onebuffalo drummerman2009I started counting Hank’s song for Reba when I saw this post years ago. I only found out this past week that Billboard.com as of today only lists Reba with 24 #1 Hits not including the Hank single so I revised my list. The chart record below only credits Hank not including: Reba, Willie Nelson, & Rev. Ike FYI: Billboard.com did count both Vince Gill’s “Oklahoma Swing” and Brooks & Dunn’s “Cowgirls Don’t Cry”

onebuffalo I know that Garth debuted at #1 but in the airplay era only what is the next biggest jump to #1? My guess would be Ricky Van Shelton's "Keep It Between The Lines" in 1991. It seems like it jumped from #9 to #1 but can't remember.

onebuffalo What song do you have as the bigger hit in 1997? George Strait’s “Carrying Your Love With Me” or Kevin Sharp’s “Nobody Knows”? The reason I ask is in my Joel Whitburn book he ranks George ahead but Kevin spent one more week on the chart than George. Usually he uses weeks on the chart as a tiebreaker if they spend the same amount of weeks at #1. This case he didn’t for some reason.

His single spent its entire run in Billboard 1997 (December, 1996-November, 1997). The Kevin Sharp single charted during two Billboard years because it spent the first four weeks of 1997 at #1. Of course, the year belonged to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill with their duet, It's Your Love.

I guess if I would've read his note at the beginning of the book I would've seen how he bases his rankings and this could also explain why he ranked "Pickup Man" over "I Swear". He ranks the songs based on this weeks at #1, then weeks in the top 10, then weeks in the top 40 then if they tie in all them categories he goes by weeks on the chart. So that's why he's got George ranked over Kevin as well. Thanks for your input I just should've read his note at the beginning and it would've explained it all to me.

If I’m not mistaken Kelsea would’ve made your list last night had Billboard been using their old chart method they used from 92 to 05. Am I right that they went by spins then instead of audience?

I have added Lee Brice as the 133rd artist in country music with at least five #1 hits with Rumor. The quintet:
1. A Woman Like You-2012 2. Hard To Love-2012 3. I Drive Your Truck-2013 4. I Don't Dance-2014 5. Rumor-2019
Interesting, two of his hits ended up being the biggest of the year WITHOUT hitting the top: Love Like Crazy in 2010 (#3) and Drinking Class in 2015 (#2). Congratulations, Lee!
