Chris Young will have more than 5 #1 country hits in his recording career and move up on the all time list. I have a feeling he will be one of the dominating male acts of this entire decade. As for Sugarland, I think "It Happens" was there very last #1 hit in May of 2009.

Second, to address your concerns in the matter given, Chris Young does have five #1 hits. I agree with you that he will have more in his future. Maybe Neon can be added, but we will have to wait. I must say you are very interested at the artists at the bottom of the list. After all, you are correct by saying that It Happens is Sugarland's very last chart topper (from 2009 no less, the same year Young had his first #1 in Gettin' You Home The Black Dress Song). I will be looking forward for more comments from you!

I think George strait will make it to 50 #1 singles. Who will be the next country singer to score 30 career #1 country singles? Among the currently active recording acts, Alan Jackson could be next with his 26 #1 hits, but he appears to be going dry with country radio, so I'm not sure. Has not scored a solo #1 hit in over 3 years, but shared one with the Zac Brown Band a year and a half ago. Maybe Kenny Chesney will be the next to get 30 if he continues his current chart success. It's almost like guessing what mlb pitcher will be the next to collect 300 career wins.

I'd say Roy Halladay. If he doesn't last long enough, then Justin Verlander.
And in country music, I'd rank the likeliest as Chesney, Paisley, McGraw but I would be much happier if AJ got there first.

If Jamie Moyer can pitch a couple more years he could win 300. He beat my Dodgers last night. GRRR. Maybe Tim Hudson or Roy Halladay. Perhaps Clayton Kershaw or ex-Dodger Pedro Martinez could win 300 games. Okay, getting on the topic, no country singer will ever break country music legend George Strait's record for most #1 country hits. That record will stand the test of time, just like Pete Rose's all-time hits record.Furthemore, I think King George has more #1 hits to come. Then again, I'd also love to see AJ make it to 30 #1's. Only time will tell.

Only time will tell. While I would love for George to make it to 50, it's looking less and less likely. The label doesn't care about the number and the charts aren't turning over quick enough to give him another 15-20 potential singles. Assuming the charts stay the same, and he releases 2.5 songs a year (that's with songs peaking in 20 weeks and being released quickly which is a huge benefit of the doubt), he still needs 3 years to really sniff 50 assuming most songs hit the top. Does he have 3 years left in him? Hopefully so, although let's just say we should treasure each new album we get from him. At this point i'm hoping he gets to 45, and I would expect him to get to around 47. Maybe he can piggyback on a few collaborations and push to 50 but I think that number is out of reach at this point. MCA needs to ignore the Mediabase chart to even give 50 a sniff, and that won't happen. A time is going to come soon where he just decides to hang it up and his 30+ years of singles is enough of a career. I think all records are made to be broken, even the #1 record. The only baseball record that is out of reach is Cy Young's wins. Nobody can/will ever win 511 games again.

Who will break Alabama's streak of 21 consecutive #1's? The Zac Brown Band are on pace on Mediabase with 9 #1's in a row, going on 10.Records are made to be broken, but it will be decades or half century when a country act breaks Alabama's streak if ever, especially since 1-2 songs a year get released to country radio with the slow chart movement in today's market.

Well, seeing as how Alabama did it on Billboard it would need to be done on Billboard again to break the record. ZBB has quite the haul since they are sitting on 7. I definitely think it's possible if a group were to release 2-3 songs top off an album, it's when you go 5 deep that makes this near impossible.

If you read my Country ChartBeat today, you will have noticed I saluted Waylon Jennings big time as he would have celebrated his 75th birthday this week (we miss you!). As you have noticed, I have given Willie Nelson credit for singing on Jennings' biggest hit, Luckenbach, Texas Back To The Basics Of Love (Billboard does not give him credit). What this does for Nelson: 1. He now has 84 top 40 hits, pushing him past those with 83: Marty Robbins and Ernest Tubb. Nelson is now ranked at #11 with the most top 40s. The top 15: 1. George Jones-146-1955-2005 2. Eddy Arnold-128-1945-1982 3. Johnny Cash-105-1955-1990 4. George Strait-96-1981-2012 5. Waylon Jennings-92-1965-1991 6. Merle Haggard-92-1964-2006 7. Dolly Parton-90-1967-2006 8. Conway Twitty-88-1966-1991 9. Reba McEntire-87-1978-2011 10. Webb Pierce-84-1952-1971 11. Willie Nelson-84-1962-2003 12. Marty Robbins-83-1953-1983 13. Ernest Tubb-83-1944-1983 14. Ray Price-82-1952-1982 15. Hank Williams, Jr.-82-1964-2006 2. He now has 44 top ten hits and 23 #1 hits. He trades places with Tim McGraw on the #1s list. 3. It gives Nelson twelve consecutive years of topping the charts (1975-1986). That is his best hit making stretch and commercially, his best period ever. 4. It gives Nelson an additional six weeks at #1, pushing total time at the top to 44 weeks. 5. Jennings and Nelson are country music's second best duet pairing (as far as #1s are concerned). The top five: 1. Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn-5-1971-1975 2. Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson-4-1976-1982 3. George Jones and Tammy Wynette-3-1973-1977 4. Kenny Rogers and Dottie West-3-1978-1981 5. Merle Haggard and Janie Frickie-2-1985 6. Here is the official list of Nelson chart toppers with weeks at #1: 1. Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain-1975-2 2. Good Hearted Woman-with Waylon Jennings-1976-3 3. If You've Got The Money, I've Got The Time-1976-1 4. Luckenbach, Texas Back To The Basics Of Love-with Waylon Jennings-1977-6 5. Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys-with Waylon Jennings-1978-4 6. Georgia On My Mind-1978-1 7. Blue Skies-1978-1 8. Heartbreak Hotel-with Leon Russell-1979-1 9. My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys-1980-2 10. On The Road Again-1980-1 11. Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground-1981-1 12. Always On My Mind-1982-2 13. Just To Satisfy You-with Waylon Jennings-1982-2 14. Pancho And Lefty-with Merle Haggard-1983-1 15. To All The Girls I've Loved Before-with Julio Iglesias-1984-2 16. City Of New Orleans-1984-1 17. Seven Spanish Angels-with Ray Charles-1985-1 18. Forgiving You Was Easy-1985-1 19. Highwayman-with Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and Kris Kristofferson-1985-1 20. Living In The Promiseland-1986-1 21. Mind Your Own Business-with Hank Williams, Jr., Reba McEntire, Tom Petty, and Reverend Ike-1986-2 22. Nothing I Can Do About It Now-1989-1 23. Beer For My Horses-with Toby Keith-2003-6-chart wise, his biggest hit What do you think?
