Teena Marie's second single from "La Dona" will be "A Rose By Any Other Name" featuring Gerald Levert. I'm so happy to see that they scrapped "I Got You". That song was a bomb waiting to happen. This is a guaranteed smash for her and should do as well as "Still In Love". Urban Adult loves both Teena and Gerald and the two of them are guaranteed Urban AC #1's even without being paired up on one track. This is like the Urban AC superstar-pairing. I really couldn't think of any track that would be a better second single. They will be shooting a video soon! Hopefully after this one becomes a hit, she can release a third single. This album is begging for a string of Top 10 hits.

I, too am relieved that I Got You was dropped out as a second single. That would probably be a fluke right there. But the pairing of her and G fits like a glove. I can't wait to check it out and perhaps it will, as you have stated, be a guaranteed smash on UAC. Cash Money/Universal has made a wise choice in selecting this piece.

Thank God -- "I Got You" is my least favorite track on La Dona. "Rose By Any Other Name" is a great choice. I also want "Makavelli Never Lied" and "Hit Me Where I Live" to be released.  |

The manager at one of the hotels in Florida was named La Dona lol they pronounced it LaDonna...what a name

I'm trying so hard to get into Teena Marie. I saw the thing of her and Rick James singing at the BET Awards... she was running around and screaming like a crazy-woman, so it's even harder for me to get into her now.

I think most people had that same reaction after seeing that shh... but she's classic in my book. Also, in the new issue of Billboard they mention that she shot a video with Gerald for the song, so hopefully we'll get to see it soon. |

Yea I flipped it on there and I was like...what is this, I've never seen it before...then I noticed Teena, didn't recognize the song...she was singing about a rose, so I figured it was this song. Then Gerald came along also.

I like this song, but not as much as "Still In Love"
Whenever I see Teena in a video or a live performance I get the feeling that she's a complete whack job. It's kind of endearing.

This song is off the hook! I'm from the old school and with all the so called divas today wasting the airways and doing one song shows and thinking they're divas,
it's very refreshing to hear a lady who's been making music for almost thirty years still come out smokin' is incredible! Let's see if Ashanti can do this 30 years (or 3 more years) for that matter.

Hopefully Gerald's new song doesn't take away airplay from "A Rose By Any Other Name". Teena needs to release a third single now! I'm hoping for "Honey Call," "Baby I'm Your Fiend" or "My Body's Hungry". Just don't let them release "I Got You"! |
