i bet you Adam will be the first performer out of anyone that appears on Idol. And I bet they will screw Kris over yet again and make him 2nd performer the next week.

Lol at itunes not having anything to do with radio, ask OC/ fireflies that. Its not always a direct correlation but you can't disregard that.
This is not acting like a #1 right now but who knows. I hope it can go at least Top 5, its a good time to be on the charts right now if he keeps getting great updates. spree I like both boys but that would be the ultimate insult to Kris. Adam can perform the next day if they want but he won the show at least show some respect. He's not in Siberia somewhere he does quietly have a hit single as well. As for album sales, well its not to say that season 8 idols are breaking the bank either.

Lady GaGa is also moving way more albums than Adam though so Telephone isn't a great comparison, considering GaGa is selling +/- 100k a week combined, and Adam isn't selling 1/5 of that.
As stated above, it's not a direct correlation, but who knows? This isn't being spun as much as Telephone is.

Adam is doing great! There shouldn't be any negative talk whatsoever. For a gay, flamboyant American Idol runner-up, he's doing bad? I don't think so.

Much better than Blake but not quite as good as David A. I think eventually he'll sell as many albums as David A but I'm not sure this is going double platinum like Crush did. Although Adam has a chance of follow up hits. David A only had one big hit song.

He'll never sell as many albums as Aiken but he should have lots more radio hits. Aiken's first album went double platinum. and his physical single "This Is the Night/Bridge Over Troubled Water" won the Billboard award for the Best-Selling Single of 2003.
Aiken was an AC artist who no Top 40 station would play of course. But his sales after his season were pretty terrific.

My guess is that Adam will be on the first live show of the top 12. For the first elimination rounds they'll probably include Allison and possibly Matt, he's got a single out apparently.

Clay would not go dbl platinum in today's market after an AI win, he just wouldn't. I don't even think he'd go platinum. Really? I remember Clay mania being absolutely INSANE. He sold so much his first week and sold I believe 2.5 million without even really a hit. Of course, his market was very, very fleeting and tied to the show, but IF he had the same mania surrounding him as he did back then I bet he would go platinum even today even if it was just platinum. I wouldn't really compare them though-it is a bit random except for the sexuality of the singer This looks like it will be a nice-sized hit for him. |

Holy high expectations, Batman! LOL. First dude was going to be the biggest instant international superstar evah, then he was going to produce the bestus idol album in history, then headline biggest best most wonderful area tour this year, and now he's going to have a number one CHR song! Can we dial it back a bit? Can he just get a solid pop hit first? Why does everything with Adam HAVE to end up with the expectation to be the!best!ever! Yikes. Let the boy breathe, people. Anyway, I think this is a hit. Number one would be nice, but I ain't counting on it. |

It's obvious it wasn't supposed to act like #1 in the early stages because he's a new artist, because of the freeze, because FYE failed and because he's gay and stations aren't adding this as fast as they should, but once those stations do finally get aboard, I think it will get to the top 10 and hopefully to #1 as well. And the update today was great! |
