LLWD was released like 2 weeks before before WWFM and got more early adds but WWFM is gaining and should jump over it soon so it's not always the case. early adds help but it's all about how the songs perform on the radio on the long run.
2 weeks? I thought it was more 2 months? I think WWFM went for adds the 24th november or somehting? I don't remember when LLWD went for adds though? Sometimes in September?

Yeah, 'cause the hype was all about the music, lol.. and if it really helped him, then why did FYE fail? Really? I can think of many examples when new artists had better adds by the time they enter the top 30 or top 20.. Bieber with "One Time" and LLWD are two recent ones that come to mind. If a song doesn't test well then it won't get a lot of radio play. And yes One Time, LLWD and also According To You had great early adds as well. But that's what turns a song into a hit. You have these couple of songs that catch on and then all the dozens of songs outside of the top 40 that are struggling. FYE had 11 days of mercy from its adds date before WWFM was first spinned by OHP and it tested very well imo in Chicago two months too late, lol. Out of "One Time", LLWD and also "According To You", I personally only see "According To You" as a real hit and the only one of those that entered and I think will enter the top 10. ATY got those adds because of MJ hype, LLWD got those adds because of winning AI hype, and OT also had hype back then.. all those songs had better hype than WWFM and FYE imo got, since Adam's hype wasn't about the music.

Well both LLWD and WWFM are hits at this point. It's true it does happen that a song can have many adds but still flop. Leona's Happy is a recent example of that. But I'm not sure what we're arguing about this time. There's nothing unusual about WWFM's adds.

Awesome update! Now all he needs is a good adds week to keep the momentum going :)
Is this the highest his bullet has ever been? Not too many songs get their biggest bullet so late in the chart run!

3rd day in a row of +100 updates! And yes, I do believe that is his biggest bullet to date. Now all we need are those cumulus adds. As long as he gets those, I think he's golden... Oh and yay for #19 too

Kworb, why would a company with top 40 stations refuse to add songs in the teens into its playlist? What is their reasoning for waiting on some songs, but not on others? It'd make sense if Cumulus owned stations that did not play a certain type of music, but from what I understand, WWFM is pretty much what they play. It's not like expecting a station that does mostly urban or rock or alternative to add WWFM.

Stations try to test them with their own audience and if those results come back negative, then they might not add it even if it's the most played song in the country. In that sense Cumulus is no different than any other station, it's just that they count for 14 rather than 1.

Testing "negative" is not the case with this song. I think they are about to add it. Patience.

It's still weird that their marketing results would be so different from Clear Channel's. I looked up their stations to see if they were concentrated in a specific region, but they're not. They're medium-sized stations scattered around the country, so it's curious. I wonder if they have a different testing procedure in place. Also, they might well add this week.

"In My Head" and "Carry Out" are rhythmic leaning songs, WWFM is HAC leaning song.. thus, Cumulus should add WWFM much faster than these two and these two are not good examples. Find me a HAC leaning song ranked higher than WWFM in Top 40 that Cumulus haven't added yet. Is this the highest his bullet has ever been? Not too many songs get their biggest bullet so late in the chart run! Yup foxx, highest bullet ever and let's not forget that bullet contains a +18 update from Saturday morning, so even if it goes down a bit in the next couple of days, I think there could be a new bullet peak by Saturday morning.

In My Head is more pure Pop than Rhythmic. It's not exactly blowing up on Rhythmic (#31 right now). It's definitely another song that Cumulus should add very soon. Also, Carry Out has Justin, so that's also more Pop than anything else. They're definitely good examples of songs that fit the format and are doing well, but are ignored by Cumulus so far, just like WWFM.

I don't think Cumulus will add "WWFM" until it's closer to the top 10 (if it ever gets there). Basically they won't until they absolutely have to...and even then that's not a guarantee. Really strange either way.

Looks like he WILL get a solid hit this era! I am hoping the cd eventually goes platinum. That would definitely be a respectable showing.

Really strange either way. Do we know if they've added or not? Btw, this is the group that officially banned the Dixie Chicks from their country playlists, so it wouldn't be quite so weird if they waited till they absolutely had to in order to add WWFM. OK, we now know that they did not. Nor have most CBS stations.

I think he could easily do 2.5-3mil in sales WW. He will probably sell another 500k here and then 1.5 in Europe. I have no doubt he will get another album

Cumulus is a conservative company. The fact that he is gay is an issue. We should push Cumulus! it sucks that they own big stations like KRBE in Houston and Q100 in Atlanta...
