Why is voice sounding thin/nasally? Has he been performing a lot lately?

Why is voice sounding thin/nasally? Has he been performing a lot lately? I noticed that as well. But, according to some of his fans, he hasn't been performing a lot lately (like at Jingle Balls where he has been playing host) because the band hasn't rehearsed, or something.

Interesting read. A fan talked to a radio program director and posted about the encounter:
So, we were at the Jingle Ball last night....we ducked out just as The Fray was coming on. We were walking aimlessly around looking for an open restaurant...Hooters looked to be our only option. FAIL......they were closed when we got there. However, as we walked back to our hotel a man came up behind us and asked if we'd been to the show. We said yep, and he introduced himself as working for the radio station, and eventually told us he was in fact the program director (legit..as he gave us his business card). He wanted our opinion about it...we told him we went for Adam.period. We told him we didn't know much about the other bands, etc...but we were happy just to be given a chance to see Adam.
We asked him if his station played Adams music and he said ...yes...WWFM, but not FYE. Anyway, this began a very long conversation with him about his professional opinion of how things are going for Adam. These are the highlights.
He predicts Adam to be HUGE, and that WWFM will probaby end up in the top 10...but it's going to take some time.
He thought that FYE should have never been released as his first single.....he said while yes...Adam's fans love it, the general population did not...he said the bottom line was...it wasn't a good song. He said as long as Adam can put out good songs...there is no way he can fail, but he must have good songs. This is why a lot of AI people never make it, even ones with a strong fanbase.
His station didn't get a lot of complaints about the AMA's, but they are a bit of a controversial station to begin with. He did say that he got a call from Adam's label/management the day after the AMA's to ask his opinion if Adam had gone too far. He didn't think it went too far, and will ultimately not hurt him.
The only reason Adam was able to do the jingle ball appearances was because the AMA fallout, and the cancellation from Ryans thing.....Adam was supposed to have been in Vegas last night filming it, but when his schedule opened up....the radio stations nabbed him for the jinge balls.
He didnt perform for a couple of reasons.... 1)If he had performed at 1 of them, he would have had to perform at all 4 2)The cost of bringing the whole band 3)There was no time for rehearsal....the bands on the bill had been rehearsing for a whlie, Adam and his band didn't have time to prepare for that type of performance on such short notice

Since he's a new artist, and since the song doesn't have a large radio presence, I don't think it's going to get the big temporary sales boost that some songs get from being performed on tv shows.
Bull, in fact a couple of the rationalizations on the list, which have been made up by Adam fans across the internet are bull. At the very least Adam could have performed WWFM, last year, Lady Gaga only performed one song. None of these stations has anything to do with the other, so Adam could have performed at the biggest and most important one, and nobody would have cared.
A bigger and more believable excuse is that it was too late to plug him into packed lineups that have been full for months.

My thoughts exactly. This was pretty obvious. His label screwed up but it seems he'll have a second chance after all. I really do think Whataya Want From Me will be a hit.

Interesting read. A fan talked to a radio program director and posted about the encounter: This story seems a little fishy to me. Where was it originally posted? Let's assume that some program manager is walking the streets during a concert his radio station is putting on chatting up random females for an hour. The only reason Adam was able to do the jingle ball appearances was because the AMA fallout, and the cancellation from Ryans thing.....Adam was supposed to have been in Vegas last night filming it, but when his schedule opened up....the radio stations nabbed him for the jinge balls. Okay, that might explain the Jingle Ball on Sunday, but surely it wasn't going to take Adam a week to record his NYE performances? Didn't he do Jingle Balls on the 6th and 11th (and some other date) as well? He didnt perform for a couple of reasons.... 1)If he had performed at 1 of them, he would have had to perform at all 4 Nonsense. Allison was one of the hosts at the Z100 gig and sang at some other Jingle Balls. I'm sure there were other artists that did similar things. If they are willing to have him host, why would they pitch him from the line-up if he sang at another concert? 2)The cost of bringing the whole band Other acts on the bill had to bring their own bands. 3)There was no time for rehearsal....the bands on the bill had been rehearsing for a whlie, Adam and his band didn't have time to prepare for that type of performance on such short notice Adam and the band have sung three different songs on television appearances (FYE, WWFM and something else on the Early Show). Some acts at the Jingle Balls only sing 1 song (at the Z100 concert, some acts only got 3-5 minutes on-stage). Sounds like they have lots of stuff ready to sing. None of the reasons make any sense, but I suppose the program manager might be just guessing (or fictional).

At the Z100 Ball, Jordin didn't even have a band, she performed using a recorded track.

But FYE is obviously selling reasonably well, at least for a song without any airplay or promotion otherwise. It must be doing something right.

This story seems a little fishy to me. Where was it originally posted? Original poster is an Adam stalking nut job and likely made up three quarters of this to appear as a "person who knows things". I wouldn't give it a moments thought.

Ya, I'm not buying the PD discussion either, it has too many holes in it. There's no rule saying you have to perform at all if you play at one. Many artists only do one or a few. Every artist has to pay for band travel, how is this new? If they haven't rehearsed enough, use a backing track, it's done all of the time. jabroni is right in that we shouldn't give the account a moment's thought. But I'm so freaking annoyed at his uber-fans for trying to turn this into a fansite. No amount of U-RAH-RAHing will make me change my opinion. I do not care for Adam's voice. My opinion, my prerogative. Many people do like his voice, your opinion and prerogative.
(and rofl at Pulse's modification of the term s-t-a-n, mostly because it was right haha_

None of these stations has anything to do with the other, so Adam could have performed at the biggest and most important one, and nobody would have cared. A bigger and more believable excuse is that it was too late to plug him into packed lineups that have been full for months. The music industry isn't always that black and white. I remember going to Jingle Ball 2003 and Beyonce and Sean Paul were both on the line up. It was at the height of the "Baby Boy" single and the audience was waiting for them to perform it together...but that never happened. I thought that was crazy since they were both in the same room at the same time. Years later in an interview Beyonce was asked why her and Sean Paul didn't perform that night and she said it came down to some label politics. Another example, when Gwen Stefani and Akon were the musical guests on SNL in December 2006 they performed separately rather then their new single, "The Sweet Escape". I also thought that was odd. Months later Gwen was asked about that and she said they did not have time to rehearse that song so it was not preformed. Those are just two examples of performances you think would be easy and made sense to pull together and then silly reasons why they never happened. I think you guys are putting way too much thought into why Adam was not on the Jingle Ball line up. Jingle Ball is a Clear Channel concert series and so far Clear Channel stations like Z100 and KIIS have been big supporters of Adam.

^^ Well, neither one of those examples explains why Adam couldn't perform WWFM, since it's just him alone and he had performed it live on prior occasions. Fans knew he was hosting these Jingle Balls several days beforehand, so it's not like he couldn't get together a track if they wanted to use one instead of a band.
IMO, the reason Adam isn't performing at any Jingle Balls is because his label didn't think to push for it when radio stations were scheduling the line-ups. Much easier to insert a "host" than a performance, since adding a host simply means that the DJs don't do as much during the show. A performance requires a time slot set aside and a stage set-up change.
