who cares about OHP? It shouldn't make or break a song.

OHP effects the weekend updates though...it counts for 25 spins I think? So, if OHP plays a song for the first time, it gains 25 spins. But, if the next weekend, they don't play it, it loses those 25 spins. Or, if they played it 3 times one weekend and only once the next weekend, it would lose 50 spins. So what they play effects the weekend updates which is why Sunday and Monday updates are weird for songs sometimes.

But still, if you factor in the OHP spins, the update would still only be in the 40s or so, so it's not just OHP. What other 'syndicated spins' was this getting?

Wow, that is an awful update!!! How would you radio knowledge people like to explain this one?? I don't get it.

ETA: I am a huge Adam fan, and this update just makes me sad because I don't understand it, I am not trolling or concern trolling, I am just wondering why the update is like this, that is all.


I think we are all a bit concerned and would just like the radio experts in here to help ease the concern a bit if that's possible. I would get an Adam avatar, but I'm not sure how to do that in here, anyway thank you to anyone who can expain it, I really appreciate it!!! :)

The update isn't horrible because the song gained spins and AI. It's just cooling off from last week's super hot numbers. But folks who follow this closely will have a better explanation than me.

Songs get passed all the time so losing chart position doesn't mean its done either.

WWFM had an increase of over 100 spins last Monday, so it would be hard to increase on that number, especially when only 4 stations added it last week. The good news is that not only did it hold on to the spins that it got last week, but it built on that number by 8 additional spins. That's not a lot, but it's a lot better than losing spins.

+8 is definitely what I would call a horrible update...straightening itself out would be if it was getting a +40 update or so...but it doesn't mean it's peaking necessarily, this song always seems to get bad updates on the weekend for whatever reason.

That would be tragic if by some chance this is done and it misses the top 20 on an official chart. Hopefully that's not the case though.

Exactly. The only places I've ever seen it mentioned are here and in Pink's threads. Nobody else cares about it.

And this is not peaking. It's a bad update, but it's not done by any means.

It needs support from the small stations, too, who have been hesitant to add the song. Until that happens, this song can't go top 10. It's not like the small stations don't know by now that the big stations are spinning it. If they do get on the train, then they better do it soon because the big stations might get played out on this song and start decreasing its spins just as smaller stations are adding it.

Well, if they did, they would probably be less confused as to why certain songs have randomly great/terrible updates. It doesn't make or break songs at all but it does effect the weekend updates.

Apparently on iheartradio it says the next single will be Fever. I'm pretty meh about this, I'm just worried about it being too "gay" for radio and flopping like FYE. On the other hand, if it were to smash I know it would smash HARD. Like, amazingly. So it's kind of, idk, tough. I'm still for IIHY tho.

I think "If I Had You" is very radio friendly, but I see the logic in Fever too - nobody's hotter than GaGa right now (except maybe Ke$sha lol) so why not take advantage of that connection? I think If I Had You and Sleepwalker are the best radio songs on this album.

Hmm Fever is not all that to me its an okay song. Frankly FYE was more catchy lol and we know what happened there. IIHY isnt a big fav of mine either but I still think its more radio friendly. Not sure if Fever can do much on radio regardless of what pronoun Adam is singing it in. That's not my concern, the entire song is and Gaga aint singing it so I don't see how that connection helps either. Fever is not better then any of the songs Gaga has released maybe that's why she didn't keep it for herself.

OF any potential singles, Sleepwalker is by far my fav but I know they're not releasing that after WWFM perhaps 4th single and they had better.

I just meant that because she's so hot on CHR at the moment, PDs might be willing to give the song more of a chance. It sounds like one of her songs and everyone knows she wrote it. I agree though that while it is a fine song, its not necessarily a big radio hit to me. Maybe. I guess we'll see.

I think the other 2 I mentioned are much better single choices, but they don't pay me to do this so what do I know? LOL. I don't even remember what Pick U Up sounds like and Music Again was fun but I can't imagine it fitting in on current playlists.

I agree with your post tinawina, IIHY and Sleepwalker are the most radio friendly songs on the album, but I think Fever has a very nice funky groove that is very alluring! I think it'll work (but what do I know?)!

I think Music Again could be huge if the radio accepts it, but there is no other song like that on radio now... too risky for a 2nd single I guess.

I read that Clear Channel Radio is calling "Fever" Adam's next single. That or IIHY are good choices. Then it has to be Sleepwalker.

WWFM is cookie-cutter made for pop radio and is a Pink song. So if WWFM isn't smashing (doing slowly well but not smashing) then I highly doubt any of the "risk" songs would do much at all. IIHY is the best bet, but I don't even think that will do much.
