Harajuku Barbie >> Pink Friday Oddly enough that would be a good THEME for a cover or song title but as an album title it seems too gimmicky and no depth. What I think when first reading Pink Friday is ??? why but then my next thought is Black Friday and then putting pink instead of black. Looking back at what the history of Black Friday is and realizing that Pink represents females and she is the only female in the game doing it...there is some subtle meaning behind it. Short story...long Pink Friday > Harajuku Barbie.

Massive Attack won't be on the album. I hope that is true! I want the album to be fire, and it wouldn't be if that song was included.

Kanye West is giving Nicki Minaj a major co-sign. The rapper says Young Money’s First Lady has the potential to be one of the greatest rappers of all time.
“The scariest artist in the game right now… The scariest artist is definitely Nicki Minaj,” Kanye told Angie Martinez on Hot 97. “And I think she has the most potential out of everyone to be the #2 rapper of all time ’cause nobody’s gonna be bigger than Eminem. Eminem’s the #1 rapper of all time.”
Kanye confirmed that Minaj is featured on his fifth album, as Rap-Up.com first reported. The disc is due November 16.
Who are the other potential threats? “I love Wayne, I love Cudi, I love Jay… They scare me too,” he revealed. “And yo Drake, you gotta give Drake credit too. Drake is scary also.”

Young Money will take over MTV at this year’s Video Music Awards. Drake and Nicki Minaj have been added to the award show lineup.
MTV announced the first round of performers and presenters for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. The 27th annual event will mark the first VMA performance by Drake, who is nominated for two awards including Best Male Video and Best Hip-Hop Video.
His Young Money cohort Nicki Minaj, a first-time nominee for Best New Artist, is set to present, along with Trey Songz, Ne-Yo, Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, and Selena Gomez.
The network also confirmed Kanye West’s return to the VMA stage following last year’s show-stealing moment. He will perform material from his fifth album, due November 16.
The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, at 9 p.m. MTV will announce additional performers, presenters, and a host on a later date.

Female rap is getting a revival thanks to Nicki Minaj. The femcee is dominating music with her guest features and solo single “Your Love,” which became the first song by a female artist unaccompanied to reach No. 1 on the Rap Songs chart since Missy Elliott’s “Work It” in November 2002.
The Associated Press interviewed some of Minaj’s peers and collaborators, including Pharrell, Ludacris, 50 Cent, Eve, and Queen Latifah, to get their thoughts on her and female rap in general. Here’s what they had to say.
Pharrell: “I think since Nicki came out there’s going to be a lot of new girls coming out. There’s always one that paves the way and opens the door [and] I think she reopened the door to hip-hop for females.”
Ludacris: “Now that you have somebody that has pretty much her own style and does her own thing, people are gravitating toward it, so I think that makes her stick out ’cause she’s so different.”
50 Cent: “There’s not as many female rappers because there’s not as many emerging crews. When those new crews come up, there’s a potential for a female artist when the head of that crew sees the idea of bringing someone to speak from a female perspective.”
Eve: “Even though Nicki is representing for females period, she’s not representing for every female. She’s a specific type of entertainer. There are a lot of different kind of men out there representing for the males, and you need a lot of different females that represent for the different kinds of females. … Honestly, between [Lauryn Hill] and me and Nicki being out there, hopefully a lot of other females will be coming up.”
Queen Latifah: “Part of the reason hip-hop was dead is because there weren’t any female emcees out, really like in the forefront of hip-hop, playing on the radio, in the daytime, every day.”

Nicki Minaj apparently could have been juggling standout cameos with movie roles by now.
Bow Wow tells MTV he tried getting Minaj a role in his new flick, The Lottery Ticket.
“To be honest, Nicki was close to being [the character] ‘Nikki’ in the movie,” Bow told MTV. “I called Nicki and said, ‘Yo, I think you should audition for this role.’” Unfortunately, Bow’s bid to get Minaj some screen time was unsuccessful: The part eventually went to R&B vixen Teairra Mari. “I thought [Minaj] did good, but unfortunately you know how things don’t work out.”
Bow didn’t go into the specifics. It’s unclear if she tried out for the role or if scheduling conflicts prevented her from making her big screen debut. But since her buzz is now much bigger than it was when Bow proposed the part, I’m sure Nicki will be getting offers and eventually make her debut. What do you guys think? Who’s looking forward to seeing Nicki on the big screen? SOUND OFF!

I can't at dead-in-the-eyes Teairra Mari snatching up movie roles. Shes getting so much praise. And she deserves it. Any of her detractors either have their concept of Hip-Hop jumbled or are completely envious and, yes, harmful to the female race. As Pharrell states, Miss Onika has reinstated the femcee breed. Not only does this mean other women will now pursue a career in rap music but those w/ existing or preexisting record contracts disparaging Minaj at the podium can now make their way back into public consciousness.

Just playin' with ya, Justine. This trey songz song will hold me over until they release her effing next single. i am getting to ancy...but I like the interview she just conducted. She is under a lot of pressure and it seems as though she is being pushed to put it out 11/23 to get huge buzz sales while Nicki is thinking more about her artistry and releasing it in the new year when she feels more ready . Either way, this is a platinum album in the making. I am ready for Right through me or whatever her new song is.

its smart of her going in a more pop route i just hope the album comes with a few good hip hop tracks, and a hot club banger.

Been meaning to post this... Nicki Minaj: More Powerful Than Two CleopatrasOften the truth in Minaj's career is trumped by the rampant rumors swirling around her love life, sexuality and lofty comparisons. Kanye West has said she has the potential to be second-greatest rapper of all time, next to Eminem. Irv Gotti has compared her to Lauryn Hill.
In regards to the latter, Minaj isn't as humble as one might expect.
"Irv has been privy to hear things that I've done that the world hasn't heard," she says. "Based on the music I have out now, that sounds like an absurd comment, but when 'Pink Friday' comes out, you will completely understand why Irv made that comparison." ------can u take???
