Hmm. Debate over. Digital ruler of them all? Top 10 Digital Artists of SoundScan Era 1) Taylor Swift - 24,329,000 2) Rihanna - 23,577,000 for now...this will continue to change depending on the IT girl of the moment as the digital market continues to mature. Its still way too short term to make any such general statements.

Yes- individual- track sales have only been registering significant amounts for less than five years.

Well I never said she'd rule forever and ever and ever. But she rules for now, indeed.

AMAZING! Wouldn't it be funny if Ke$sha replaced herself at #1.

wow. so it looks like "BBB" will sell around 150k-200k this week. I guess that makes her the album-selling version of Flo-Rida.

BTW, I know we can't judge just by pop bars, but if Tik Tok sold nearly 400k last week, I figure 150k-200k is reasonable.

I say 180k if the popularity starts decreasing during the weekend. If it holds up 195-215k.
3OH!3 should be happy, they're not going to be one-hit-wonders now, thanks to Ke$ha.

I don't think 3OH!3 would be a one hit wonder anyway. The first single off their next album would be at least a moderate hit just because their first album spawned a hit. In any case, I really like their album.

Wow at Kesha completely dominating on iTunes. I didn't think BBB had enough exposure to get to #1.

Didn’t Taylor’s singles from her rerelease all shoot up the top of the iTunes charts? Then they all declined gradually in the succeeding week. I think the same thing will happen to Kesha’s singles. Although I wonder if her label will surely release BBB now that it appears to be the most popular of all the other songs in the album.

That is just brilliant.. A lot of people said that Ke$ha would be a one hit wonder with 'TiK ToK'. They were obviously wrong. The second single hasn't even been announced yet, so generally speaking, an album track has hit #1.. That is pretty hard to believe! She definitely will have more than 1 hit song now. It even made it in Canada, wooooo! Also, 'Animal' was released in Australia today. Right now it is 11:10pm, so in less than 24 hours, 'Blah Blah Blah' has reached #44 on the Australian iTunes songs chart with her other tracks not far behind. Within the next 2 days, expect another top ten for her in Australia.
As for the UK, they have to wait until April or something like that but I heard somewhere that it has been moved forward to February.
She is going to dominate the charts this year, I can just tell..

Ke$ha was featured on RR as well so she wasn't going to be a one-hit wonder anyway.

But she didn't receive credit for RR- harkened back the old days (up through the 90s, even), when female acts sang on rap/hip-hop tracks, and didn't receive credit in the billing (i.e. L.L. Cool J's "Doin It," B.I.G.'s "Mo Money Mo Problems," etc. etc.)

Don't feel bad for all the people K$ beat on the charts this week. It's hard for mere humans to beat THE ANIMAL!

I'm totally surprised by Ke$ha's success so far... Usually when someone takes off hugely like this, I at least somewhat see it coming. But this is just... wow. I'll admit that I am among the many who had her pegged for a one-hit wonder.
It seems that in the digital era, one-hit wonders have become increasingly rare, as when debut singles smash, other tracks are able to build quickly on that buzz.
