Mariah killed it this year with OBSESSED. Still on the charts after 6 months. Legendary! No damn reason why her CD shouldn't be approaching 1 million sales. There is one reason: all the other singles flopped hard. |

Is the high airplay "Telephone" is getting weeks before the official single release unusual, or is that typical for an artist enjoying a successful era?

Telephone isn't even confirmed as the second single, Billboard thinks that the next single is Speechless so no the airplay isn't normal. Radio just jumped on it because it's a hot collab between two huge pop stars right now.
I hope to god that it's the next single though and I think it will be. Before LoveGame started recieving airplay then they planned Paparazzi as the third single but then I guess the airplay changed their minds so hopefully the same happens here.

It was confirmed as single #2 on GaGa's site but that was after the album release. I hope they don't change their mind, it's already pretty high to scrap it.

By the way it's not going for adds there on the 22nd, it's being released physically there. Songs don't go for adds in the UK.

why is 'You Belong With Me' increasing? Possibly year end charts on radio stations - usually happens at this time of year. If you look at the iTunes chart right now that seems to be having an affect on people downloading songs from earlier this year. |
