Mariah is the biggest selling female artist of all time and the most sucessful artist in the last 20 years according to billboard magazine. Sorry but she can do whatever she wants Mariah just wants to have the song of the decade for the third time in a row ;)

ISIL failed to chart on the Hot 100, but was #1 on the Dance charts.
I think this song has a shot, is it a longshot, yes... but with Mariah, ya never know. She is still immensely popular (one of the most followed artist on Twitter after Britney... see pg 78 of the Mariah thread for a comparison), so she's clearly not unpopular, despite the low record sales and string of flops. Maybe it really is the music she's putting out??? Hopefully this song will do the trick? If not, there's always her next album, which will probably be out in two years time.

IF this song does anything at all it will be because Ne-Yo is on it...but even with him I see this flopping harder than Brooke Hogan's 'Hey Yo'.

I like that they kept the song the same.
I don't like that the amazing second verse was replaced. :( But it was cool that they each got a verse/chorus. However, her voice overpowers his completely at the end. He sounds like a backup singer. haha.

Idk if it's just me but it feels like Ne-Yo's vocals sound so out of place, like he recorded his part on his closet while playing Mimi's version.

I can't see this going anywhere. I like Ne-Yo but the original song sounds better than the remix imo and do they really want to release her a remix album already when her current isn't really selling much these days?

this "remix"= zzzzzfest. Only hardcore Lambs will believe this is a solid "hit" lol. The woman just looks more and more desperate for a hit each minute.

Both the remix and the adds date situation are a mess.

Lmao. I love Mariah a lot, but one thing I love almost as much is reading Mariah's threads. Every single comment puts a smile to my face. Thank you, pulse.

By the way.. listening to the remix now and am very disappointed. I thought she was gonna maybe put a little bit of effort into this remix thing.. silly me. This era is a damn mess. I love Angels Cry to death, but as the third (flop) ballad off of this album, this will not go very far. I mean, if the "I wanna know what success is again" single and then the FLOPU single didn't impact.. what makes her label think this will?
I do love the song, though. Just not a smart choice. Prove me wrong, public.

Mariah is the biggest selling female artist of all time and the most sucessful artist in the last 20 years according to billboard magazine. Sorry but she can do whatever she wants Mariah just wants to have the song of the decade for the third time in a row ;) I don't think she is the best selling female artist of all time. She has never made the Guiness book of world records. Barbra has sold more in the US and even Madonna has more album certifications. Your statement is not a clear fact, especially not on a global scale. Here is a list of the biggest selling artists and Groups in the "World" based on published facts. Madonna is the best selling female solo artist with Celine. If you include single sales she has a huge margin. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_music_artistsIf we are speaking "US" only here is the other listed based on reported facts. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_music_artists_in_the_United_StatesIf you were going to count in single sales aswell. Madonna would be even further ahead of Mariah in the USA. In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked her at number six on "The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists", making Carey as the second most successful female artist, behind Madonna, in the history of Billboard Hot 100 chart.[14] Wikipedia. If You are refering to "Soundscan" that started in 1991 as a new tracking for sales. You need t0 add soundscan era when making that kind of comment. Mariah is still up there and hold many records in her own right but we must be clear about factual sales. To dissmiss other artist pre-soundscan era is just stupidity! Here are some qoutes from Wikipedia" "Madonna is the top selling female recording artist in the U.S., when combining both her album and singles sales. She is ranked by the Recording Industry Association of America as the best-selling female rock artist of the 20th century and the second top-selling female artist in the U.S., with 64 million certified albums behind Barbara Streisand. .[3][4] Guinness World Records listed her as the world's most successful female recording artist of all time.[5] In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked Madonna at number two, behind only The Beatles, on the "Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists", making her as the most successful solo artist in the history of Billboard Hot 100 chart.[6] "Mariah, According to the Recording Industry Association of America, she is the third best-selling female artist and sixteenth overall recording artist with shipments of over 62.5 million albums in the US.[11] She is also ranked as the best-selling female artist of the U.S. Nielsen SoundScan era (third best-selling artist overall). "Nielsen SoundScan is an information and sales tracking system created by Mike Fine and Mike Shalett. Soundscan is the official method of tracking sales of music and music video products throughout the United States and Canada. Data is collected weekly and made available every Wednesday to subscribers, which include executives from all facets of record companies, publishing firms, music retailers, independent promoters, film and TV, and artist management. SoundScan is the sales source for the Billboard music charts, making it the official source of sales records in the music industry. Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales data for Nielsen on March 1, 1991.[citation needed] The May 25 issue of Billboard published Billboard 200 and Country Music charts based on SoundScan "piece count data,"[1][2] and the first Hot 100 chart to debut with the system was released on November 30, 1991. " Yes Mariah has been very successfull but she is not the best selling in any country proven through any valid resource that is respected or honored. Unless you are talking about the (US only) soundscan era which began in 1991. Based on soundscan figures from 1991 she is the third artist overall.
