I'm glad a new thread was made lol...Now I can keep up with it til the Grammys. I want Carrie Underwood to perform but chances are that she won't. I think she'll win both her awards but at least the country collab one.

Green Day is extremely popular and respected. They could have at least added KOL first.

Probably in the last batch (all this batch talk sounds like were making cookies) to be announced.

Agreed. I got the impression that the TV industry considers her a reliable ratings draw. Not sayin if it's true or not, just that it considers her as such.

How are the winners revealed for the pre-telecast categories? Do they stream that or put it up on their site? Because many of the categories outside GF I will be checking for this year will not be shown during the big ceremony.

Last year I believe it ran from 4PM-7PM.

Yes, and it was a boring mess! It was pretty boring, but it's more exciting to hear the awards announced rather than just seeing them highlighted on the site. --- I added Lady Antebellum and Maxwell to that performers list on the top of the page.

They've all performed quite a bit in the last year or two.
I figure to pass the time I'll post a new acceptance speech or performance every day until the day of the Grammys.

^Beyonce hasnt perfomed at that many....What about Gaga, Taylor, and the Black Eyed Peas? Are you serious? It wouldn't be an award show if Beyonce wasn't performing. I am definitely sick of Black Eyed Peas and Taylor too. Lady Gaga has perfomed a lot but she seems to make each performance so different and unique that it still comes across fresh. Would be nice to see an out of left field performer added to the list to spice things up a bit.

I think the difference is that Beyonce has been performing steadily at most awards shows for like...6+ years as opposed to Gaga or even Taylor who are fairly new and have only been a presence for 1-3 years (I say up to 3 years because I don't remember when exactly Taylor became an awards show presence-I only really remember her being present everywhere for the past year or so though). But, Beyonce works her ass off and is always one of the top females out there so I understand why she is asked so many times. It would feel a bit weird not to have her perform when she is one of the most nominated people out there and one of the biggest female stars.
If Gaga performs Speechless with a minute of Bad Romance attached I will kill people. Kill.

I am most looking forward to Dave Matthews, Pink, and Lady Gaga. But I know Beyonce will bring it too. She always does.

I wish Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix, and Britney Spears would perform. I know Britney can't sing live, but it would still be cool to see her up there. Yeah Yeah Yeahs ALWAYS rock their performances and Phoenix would be nice to see there too

Britney only performed once in the Grammy's and I'm sure she won't be there this year.
Please GaGa, no more Speechless. I'd say the same about P!nk and Sober, but P!nk is actually nominated for that one so... And no more Single Ladies, Beyoncé, please. A Halo or Sweet Dreams performance would be nice. Even a VP with GaGa would be better than the same old Single Ladies dance AGAIN.

www.billboard.com/#/news/randy-jackson-tweets-for-help-on-grammy-1004056551.storyRandy Jackson Tweets for Help on Grammy Votingby Ayala Ben-Yehuda, L.A. | January 05, 2010 Taking a page out of "American Idol," judge Randy Jackson reached out to his Twitter followers yesterday (Jan. 4) to help him fill out his Grammy ballot. While there's no way of telling whether Jackson's nearly 12,000 Twitter followers actually influenced his votes, the "Idol" judge - who's prepping for the Jan. 12 premiere of the show's ninth season on Fox - was fervently marshaling their input. "Who should win album of the year?? Gaga, Beyonce, Taylor swift, black eye peas or Dave matthews band!! help me!! c'mon," Jackson tweeted Monday afternoon. For Song of the Year, he later added, "okay its between use somebody and pokerface..... which one!! c'mon!!!" and then wrapped with, "alright guys... thanks for your help... gotta get back to work ... ya all are amazing!!! HOLLA, ONE!" Voting members of the Recording Academy have until Friday to get their votes to accounting firm Deloitte & Touche. Winners, which are chosen by their fellow music industry professionals, will be crowned during the 52nd Grammy Awards Jan. 31, airing on CBS from Los Angeles' Staples Center at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The Grammy ballots are printed with a rule that reads: "Do not allow your choices to be suggested or directed by other than your own conscience." Jackson is a former member of the board of governors for the Recording Academy's Los Angeles chapter. A rep for Jackson couldn't be reached and a Recording Academy spokesperson did not comment at press time.

^Why not turn to Twitter? Not like it's one of the most esteemed awards shows around. When choosing the vocal categories (which aren't really all about vocals, anyway), he probably said things like, "I dunno dawg, he sounded pitchy on this one..."
