I never said GaGa wasn't covered/remixed/etc. Use Somebody did great on the charts. It was a #1 rock single as well. and I am not talking about success. I am talking about impact. No one would expect Use Somebody to be a huge pop/rock/hot ac/etc hit. The Taylor song is the type of songs that are always hits. I'm not confused about anything, it is my opinion.

"You Belong With Me" did extremely well on the Pop and Country charts, and it was the first of its kind in a long time to do well on both charts ( remixed or not, that song still sounds the same). So, I don't understand your point. Stating that something was "bigger" than something else isn't "opinion." In this case, it's a false fact. And several songs like "Use Somebody" have done well on the Pop charts. Anywho, I think both Taylor and KOL are contenders for ROTY and SOTY. I think DMB is the front-runner for AOTY.

Dave has AOTY. ROTY & SOTY is Kings of Leon's with Taylor Swift being the most likely upset. (Unfortunately)

And several songs like "Use Somebody" have done well on the Pop charts. Anywho, I think both Taylor and KOL are contenders for ROTY and SOTY. I think DMB is the front-runner for AOTY. Actually, not to be difficult, but there were many country acts that had great success on pop before Taylor. Shania Twain kind of led the way I think, but Dolly parton and others might have done it before her too. Also, Before he Cheats Made Top 10 on Pop not long ago, and hit number 1 on country for 5 weeks, without a pop remix. Taylor is not the first person to do that--- Shania Twain was I think- and it hasn't been that long since Carrie did it too. So while Taylor is doing great on Pop, part of her success is her willingness to remix every song to pop. It is certainly working for her. Funny thing, when Shania Twain, Leanne Rimes, and Faith Hill remixed their songs to pop, they received alot of backlash from Nashville for a time, but apparently, Nashville no longer cares about pop remixing as there has been no backlash to Taylor whatsoever. So now, Lady Antebellum is copying Taylor and Shania too, by pop remixing. I guess it is a new era now. lol

"Before He Cheats" did, in fact, hit top 10 on Hot 100 (not sure about Pop radio though), but "You Belong With Me" was the first song in nine years to hit the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts at the same time. The last one being Faith Hill's 2000 single "Breathe." That is a huge accomplishment for a Country artist. A lot of hits are remixed to fit a certain format. It's funny because the only difference between the original and the remix is the fact that it has a pop sound at the beginning of every verse. Other than that, they sound the same. The country version sounds Pop as hell anyways. Either way, "Use Somebody" didn't make more impact than "You Belong With Me." For some reason, I think it's between KOL and Taylor. I wouldn't be surprised if either one wins.

Well a lot of industry sources say Bey is not only in the running but favorite for Song and/or Record. So I guess we'll all find out at the same time no matter what hunch anyone on pulse has.

^^ Before He Cheats hit Top 10 on the Top 40 Billboard Pop charts too, and number 5 on Hot Ac. But I am getting off topic now so I will stop. sorry! lol
^ I think Beyonce is definietly going to win at least one General Category. It is just too hard to say which one.
I still think Lady Gaga might be the Norah Jones/Amy Winehouse of this year though. But who knows. She might be snubbed for being eccentric by conservative voters. But if they loved Amy Winehouse, it is hard to see why they wouldn't love Gaga too. lol Amy is hardly the usual conservative voter choice. lol

"Poker Face" is nowhere near conservative compared to "Don't Know Why" or "Rehab." if anything, the reason the panel picked that as a nominee is because of its universal success. In the end, it won't win, at least I don't think it will.

Beyonce certainly is in the running for SOTY but I'd be floored if "Halo" won ROTY.

Exactly. Please stop fronting like Beyonce will not be a contender at the award show. Lest we forget, she is THEE most nominated artist going into the evening. Plus she made it into the nominations for all 3 General Field categories, a first in her career. So that already says alot about where she stands right now as well. And she's already won more Grammys than the 2 folks ya'll keep going back & forth about.

Do you guys think Kelly Clarkson will get a performance slot? I know they asked Pink already for Pop, but they usually have more then one Pop performer, right?
^ I definitely think Beyonce will get some love. lol

No point in singing AG again. Ideally Kelly'd sing the 4th single from the album, but if there's not going to be another single, I'd assume she'll sing My Life Would Suck Without You, which she has yet to do on a US awards show and is still the album's biggest hit.
I don't know how much the labels are involved in lobbying for performance slots, but my guess is that she'll get one only if there's going to shortly be a 4th single to promote.

LAst year, the Jonas Brothers donated 75k to the Grammy Museum. Then, surprise surprise, they got a performance slot. lol

Taylor got nominated for the three awards as well and has nearly doubled her album sales, all the while maintaining her higher critical acclaim and selling-out stadiums. I don't know why people are dismissing her. Beyonce is not top-dog in the states. Radio is one thing, but the album sales and boxscore in the US doesn't lie.

As much as I love Taylor, outside the US she's done nothing. and this era don't even compare promo between those 2 Beyoncé only promote Boy/Put A Ring On It , she wasn't even there last year @ the Grammy. anyway I don't really care I love them both ( I even hope they do something together since Tay is a big fan) and they'll probably have the most award

Who the fuck said anything about "industry sources"? I didn't even write the word INDUSTRY anywhere in that post. Please re-read again and come correct! What I said is that don't underestimate Beyonce's chances at winning ANYTHING on Grammy night. She is a contender in every category she is up for, that's why she got the Top 5 vote for the nominations. Deal with it.

In all award shows, the performance that really hits home with me is that of Carrie Underwood. That girl can sing. And I hope she gets a performance slot. She nailed Last Name last year and she just does brilliantly in every single award show she performs at.
