I wonder how this will do, seeing as how "Help Me" did well.

I heard this yesterday. I remember it had a pretty nice intro and sounded catchy. That's all I remember really, but yeah I'm eager to know how they'll do with this since they had their biggest hit yet with their last album.

What was the followup? "Over and Out"? I don't recall that one doing anything, though it should have.

^ I'm not sure there ever was an official follow-up.
I don't expect this to do nearly as well as "Help Me," seeing as how I think they're supposed to be moving back away from such slick production, but more importantly, they're not in the major label machine anymore.
So the song is apparently a heroin addiction metaphor for love. Sounds an awful lot like 50 Cent's "Baltimore Love Thing," if you ask me. If there are earlier examples, I'd love to hear 'em.

Anberlin's "Dance, Dance Christa Paffgen" is similarly themed. "Your black dress in disarray, only dancefloor prayers can save/But it's you that's coursing through my veins/Don't need no drugs, you're my chemical/Now I'm dependent, swear I'm clinical/Addicted to those glances, taking chances tonight/I need a fix in those heroin eyes."

I was disappointed by "Help Me", whose success should have been achieved by "We've Had Enough" or "Mercy Me" (or better yet, both), but I'm looking forward to this.

This is a lot more like their earlier material than anything on the past few records.
It's decent, but it's not particularly memorable. At best, this will be a moderately sized hit on my personal chart.
I don't expect this to even breach the Top 30 on Alternative radio. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it does.

Agreed with Nick, although I love this song regardless, and back it up 10 years and this song is a top 10 quality hit.

This song hurts my ears. Not kidding. And I like Alkaline Trio quite a bit...

Only just heard this a few days ago, but I'm liking it quite a bit. EDIT: I'd meant to share that Spinner has a free download of it.

This song is pretty catchy. As is the album from what I've heard. A reasonable listen.

It's not a bad album IMO, but it lacks something that I can't put my finger on as have their previous two albums as well. I wish they'd go back to their old sound similar to what "Stupid Kid" sounds like.

Well it did just go for adds..... Oh, my fault. It's been up on All Access's Cool New Music page for so long at this point and this topic was started so long ago that I thought it went for adds like a month ago, at least. Good to know it's not bombing yet.

Well it's got a bullet of +25 and it has over 100 plays, so I don't think we can say that just yet. It's probably a couple adds away from the top 50.

Do you know what position it's at exactly?

Nah. I just looked on 'spincrease' and it is gaining just enough spins to be listed with its bullet, number of stations playing, leaders, and starters. I added the plays from the leaders and starters, then I realized there were a handful more stations that had played it this week than were listed as leaders or starters, and conservatively gave those stations 1 play each. That estimate puts them at 107 plays, but they likely have close to 120, and the #50 song has 132, so I'm guessing it's pretty close.

It's not really as memorable a song as "Help Me" though, IMO.
