I wish this were true (OMG SHE HATIN ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) ). She should have released this remix project as a free mixtape to promote the album in the first place.

These two are my ladies but Alanis's last effort is above and beyond MOAIA. Plus, Alanis knows where she stands (she knows she's not longer a commercial success, but makes music when she feels like it because she loves it) but Mimi's attempts after Obsessed have been pretty pathetic. Your hatred is more than deperate and unnecessary. So Pure didn't even insult Mariah. I need to actually join his laughter, and actually hope this whole project stays in LA Reid's a$$. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

The remix album has been removed from the 'upcoming section' on the Island Def Jam website :o

i really wanted the impossible with jodeci *dreaming* Very nice color palette, but also unrealistic, because we all know damn well Mariah wouldn't share the frame of an album cover with any other living creature. ;) except for a butterfly, maybe lol

I wanted the MJB and Mariah It's A Wrap! And yeah... the whole Jump Smokers album. Both the Hate U Remix and Obsessed remix were hot.

Damn...I wanted it mainly for selfish reasons, not because I thought it was going to do well. I wonder why they don't just release it if it's already done? It's not gonna hurt anything. There are certain things I really do want, like the Jump Smokers mixes, the Hate U remix, It's a Wrap with Mary J. Some of what we heard is not great, but we haven't even heard it all, I don't think....
Maybe they will throw us a bone and put a few of them on iTunes or something.

I think that maybe they will just be released on iTunes. Another full release failure wouldnt be good.

I think pulling the remix album, all in all, was a good decision. She doesn't need any other under-performing singles/albums before the release of her next project (five was enough).

Well this isn't that shocking considering everything. I was somewhat looking forward to the new songs and It's A Wrap with Mary, but I think this was a good move. It just seemed doomed from the start.

I haven't seen anything official at all actually. It's possible that someone here just made it up, I suppose. Mariah Daily does not say anything.

I hope it was pulled. It is a disaster waiting to happen. Not only is it a waste of energy and resources but it will kill off the sales of the original album which have sustained fairly well considering all that took place. Let the album go Gold and call it a day. The music on this album was great actually. Not the problem here. Everything else was the problem. Single choices, marketing, imaging, etc. Take a break and come hard with a real vision next Spring.

Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel was a great album (strictly speaking quality), but it housed no huge hits. There wasn't a song on the album that would have pushed this album to the million mark in my opinion. It was pretty clear, from the start (regardless of what could have been released or should have been released), that the album wasn't going to be some huge monster success. If she's content with making quality albums that don't churn out hits she should continue making albums like this. However, I don't see why she couldn't produce an album that is high quality and contains a few commercial knock-outs (cue Emancipation). If she wants a better return (commercially speaking) with the next era, she better bring out the blockbuster hooks.

How many featured songs from AA leaked again? I only have the remixes of HateU and UOMF. I haven't heard any of the other remixes. If someone can pm me, it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I only have those two as well, and Obsessed, so if anyone has any others and can PM me, I would also really appreciate it. Have stopped the updates because they are not worth updating anymore.

Never thought I would think this way, but I kinda hope this project is shelved. These remixes/features have been terrible.

Someone claiming to be Mariah's dog Jack (yeah...) has a couple blog posts about 'Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel' flopping. Kind of obvious but it's an amusing read: jacksonpmutley.com/?p=30

Def Jam honcho dodged the music Last Updated: 3:51 AM, March 10, 2010 Def Jam CEO Antonio "L.A." Reid canceled a key speech at a top music event with his staff claiming his son was seriously ill -- but he really panicked over facing questions about his future with the label, sources tell Page Six. Hundreds of top music industry suits paid up to $1,000 each to hear Reid speak at the Billboard 2010 Music & Money Symposium at the St. Regis last week. But hours before the talk, delegates were told that his son was in the hospital with a head injury and needed surgery. Reid has four sons, from 6 to 29 years old, as well as a daughter, 8. "There was speculation among other music executives that this was not entirely the truth. Reid didn't want to answer questions about his future with Island Def Jam," a source said. "The move left organizers panicked with no speaker with just hours to go. Vevo CEO Rio Caraeff agreed to stand in." The Post's Peter Lauria reported last month that R&B impresario Reid is under pressure to break a cold streak following the promotion of Lucian Grainge to CEO of Universal Music Group, which owns Island Def Jam. Following disappointing sales from artists including Rihanna and Mariah Carey, Reid has been ordered to rein in his spending and bring in a hit. A friend of the dapper Reid -- one of the most powerful men in the US music business -- told us, "L.A. had to cancel because he was called away on family business, not because his son was ill. That was just a story that went around. He isn't afraid to answer questions about his future with the label. He is about to sign J.Lo [Jennifer Lopez] and isn't going anywhere." A rep for Island Def Jam said, "It was unfortunate, but he was called out of town on personal business and hopes to be able to participate in a future symposium." Billboard declined to comment.
