Paul Grein writes:
Two songs by the Black Eyed Peas top the 5 million mark in paid downloads this week. "I Gotta Feeling" jumps to 5,057,000. "Boom Boom Pow" advances to 5,035,000. Only two other songs in digital history ("Low" by Flo Rida featuring T-Pain and "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga featuring Colby O'Donis) have reached the 5 million sales marker. It's remarkable that the Peas were able to follow a blockbuster hit like "Boom Boom Pow" with a song that has, as of this week, become an even bigger hit..
Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" tops the 3 million mark in paid downloads. It's her third song to hit this level, following "Just Dance" and "Poker Face." Gaga is the first artist in digital history to amass three 3 million-sellers as a lead artist. Rihanna also has three, but she was a featured artist on one of those (T.I.'s "Live Your Life"). Lil Wayne, likewise, has three, but he was a featured artist on two of those (Kevin Rudolf's "Let It Rock" and Jay Sean's "Down"). Kudos, Gaga..
Kings Of Leon's "Use Somebody" and Jason Derulo's "Whatcha Say" also top the 3 million mark in paid downloads. "Use Somebody" has sold more digital copies than any previous Grammy-winner for Record of the Year..

Debby Boone--"You Light Up my Life" in 1977. Yeah, it was a big hit then (10 wks@no. 1), but it was SO BAD that you don't really hear it even on any retro oldies shows even today.

Monica is finally back on the chart (as lead artist).
"Say Aah" looks like it will become the first Top 10 hit for Trey Songz!

Yeah I already knew Right Round was also Ke$ha's #1. So so far, with her 2 #1's combined, she's spent 15 weeks @ #1.... :)

As the b!tch shouldn't. What did she provide to the song? Even Flo Rida didn't include her ass in the video.

"Right Round" may be one of those after-the-fact credits. Ke$ha wasn't credited when the track was on the chart, but maybe in retrospect, Billboard decided it would be proper? Kinda like "Diamonds," and how Record Research counts it among Janet Jackson's chart entries.

But Madonna was on "Sidewalk Talk" & Billboard still doesn't credit her either. :(

Kinda like "Diamonds," and how Record Research counts it among Janet Jackson's chart entries. Wasnt she credited for the first 6 weeks the song was charting? According to Paul Grein she was: Ke$ha, whose "featured" credit on "Right Round" was suddenly yanked in the song's sixth week of release. While the record was #1 on the Hot 100, the billing (which is shown on the chart) went from "Flo Rida featuring Ke$ha" to simply "Flo Rida." Eh. I think only the lead artists should be credited for achievements anyway.

9 weeks @ #1 for Tik Tok! awesome. Ke$ha made Billboard her b***h for the ninth consecutive week. Hawt. Is she #1 in Canada this week? There's a new Canadian Queen Of Pop in town, y'all: Montreal teen Nikki Yanofsky, who performed “O Canada” during the festivities, rockets 44-1 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 and 5-1 on the Emerging Canadian Artists chart with “I Believe” (Universal), the official theme of broadcaster CTV’s games coverage. The ballad is the first song by a Canadian artist to lead the Hot 100 since Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” topped the chart in March and April 2007. “I Believe” wins the Greatest Gainer/Digital medal, soaring 42-1 on Hot Digital Songs with 31,000 downloads sold (up 1,089%), the third-best weekly sum since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales of digital tracks in February 2005. Only Ke$ha’s “TiK ToK” (36,000, Jan. 9) and Flo Rida’s “Right Round” (34,000, Feb. 28, 2009) have registered more impressive frames.

How come Tik Tok was #1 this week if Bedrock was just aprox. 5,000 (give or take bds numbers): TOP 20:1. KESHA - Tik Tok = 121.335 (- 1.248) 2. YOUNG MONEY - Bedrock f/Lloyd = 116.800 (+ 1.170) and in the digital chart Bedrock was 2 places above Tik Tok: Billboard - Hot Digital Songs - Top 75 - 2/27/10 LW-TW-Title-Artist **-01 We Are The World 25: For Haiti - Artists For Haiti 01-02 Imma Be - Blck Eyed Peas 05-03 Hey, Soul Sister - Train 04-04 BedRock - Young Money02-05 Need You Now - Lady Antebellum 03-06 TiK ToK - Kesha06-07 Bad Romance - Lady Gaga and still this????? ??? ??? Billboard - Hot 100 - 2/27/10 LW-TW-Title-Artist 01-01 TiK ToK - Kesha (9th week at #1)**-02 We Are The World 25: For Haiti - Artists For Haiti 02-03 Imma Be - Black Eyed Peas 04-04 BedRock - Young Money 05-05 Bad Romance - Lady Gaga 03-06 Need You Now - Lady Antebellum I bet this week the positions 1-4 were really, really close, with streaming (which we don't know, cuz of bks abscence) making the difference. Anyho, I bet this week is the last of Tik Tok at #1. Next week???? Who????

It's not going to be We Are The World. It looks like it's dropping on iTunes. It's either BedRock or Imma Be next week.

^^Those airplay stats you showed were Mediabase, not bds. Billboard uses bds and not Mediabase.
I think next weeks #1 is the charity single.

^ That's why I said give or take bds numbers But if the charity single sells 250,000 it seals the deal at number 1. If not then what ^^ said it´s true: Imma Be or Bedrock. Anyways, I hate when songs have countless weeks at number 1. I like a little rotation at the top spot. The ideal (for my at least) it's to have at least 16-20 songs reach the top spot in any given year.

Ditto. Looking at Chart archives it used to be like that that in the 80's. There was also a lot more movement every week.

I can't believe We Are The World didn't debut at #1. Is it because it's not getting any airplay?
