I said "often" not "always" indicating that some songwriters are masochists when it comes to their voices and songs. Mika may love the way a song sounds, but doesn't have the instrument or training to pull it off. That's his choice.

Adam uses a fast vibrato to sustain his chestvoice, but that's not anything "unnatural" imo. In fact, I think it would hard to do if your vocal cords were not relaxed (which is natural to me ).

Is Mika hyperactive live, the way Adam is? A hyperactive performance of a difficult song does not always lead to excellent vocals. Happily, Adam has no problems with delivery when he's standing still.

I love Mika :) If composers wrote only for themselves, never challenged themselves, a lot of good music would disappear.

How does one have a poor spin update but a huge audience gain? His Top 40 updates are becoming more and more eradic. Hot AC has been relatively consistent though.

What does that mean for a song? Is it a lack of adds? Is it a result of where he is being played?

It's those Z100 spins. In the afternoon update he had like +0.3 AI.

I think this will soon get out of limbo again and start moving.

He's not getting enough spins, or too many spins, and that's throwing the thing off? Can a single station throw numbers off like that?

Z100 was playing the acoustic version a bunch of times on Tuesday and that threw off the Wednesday morning update cause they weren't counted yet as WWFM spins. In the afternoon update yesterday those spins were fixed, and so today's morning update also includes the added AI from those missing spins, which is why the AI gain is so huge.

108 spins is also gigantic for Z100, I think since they have two GaGa songs in power they shift attention a bit more to the other two in power (this and Orianthi).

It's simple, it had a spin increase of 102 last Saturday, which would have been hard to build on, and it hasn't been getting a lot of adds over the past three weeks. The bright side is that:
1. It held on to all 102 spins, and even got 7 more.
2. 6 songs in the top 10 are falling, and 3 more in the top 20.
3. Right now, there are no major threats behind it. The biggest and only threat seems to be "Rude Boy".
4. "Down" is finally losing spins.
