Plus, "Window Seat" is the Erykah Badu that many people, mainly her fans, missed. She even challenged Janet for that #1 spot last album. She lost but wasn't far off from JJ's tally. Don't underestimate Erykah Badu. Soul artists have been selling well.

The tongue-stuck-out smilie indicated tat I was joshin' abut it hitting #1. :) Or, did you mean that it has no shot at the top 10? I'd think it will sell less than worse Confessions Tour, so I would agree with that, too.

I gather the above info is for Current Albums (like the info posted for last week)? Looks like Celebration dropped off the chart, as the posted numbers likely would have included it. Though even with V-day, would the bottom of the Current Albums chart see sales of 3K+?

Ludacris's album openings have been on a consistent decline, but "How Low" is getting more hype than the singles from Theater of the Mind, so I wouldn't completely rule him out for an opening week in the 300k area. On the other hand, I could see him continuing his downward trend and getting 150k-200k. I think that's a wildcard release, but one on which to keep an eye.

The one showing Clarkson is Top Current Albums. The one without her is the Billboard 200.

That is sales from the Current Album charts I presume. The BB200 posted by areyoureadytojump is the comprehensive list which includes albums that are now classed as catalog titles but sell enough to beat current titles hence Kelly Clarkson not being on there. Billboard still publish a current chart -which used to be the official Billboard chart but since the rules changed the Comprehensive list is now the official BB200. Hope that makes sense.

Q. How does Billboard 2 seperate albums if they sell the exact amount of copies? At #200 2 albums tied but Harry Connick Jr made the top 200 & Melody Gardot did not.

Its happening quite a lot lately at the bottom of the 200 where 2 albums are selling the same amount.

this week the top 76 "current albums" sold more than 10,000 copies this week thanks to Valentine's Day. And it takes more 3,200 copies to make the current albums chart

The surge according to Billboard was that the Target exclusivity ended and the album is now available at all retailers.
