Hm, the Jackson 5 did never have 3 #1's from one album. They actually released 3 albums in the first year where they scored their 4 #1's. I think the same is the case for The Supremes and The Beatles.

The Bee Gees managed 3 #1's from "Saturday Night Fever", and Wilson Phillips got 3 #1's from their self titled debut album.

Ok. I just did checked out the Beatles stats, and "Help" is the first album with 3 #1 hits in the US. "Ticket To Ride", "Help" and "Yesterday" all reached #1 in the US. But "Yesterday" was not featured on the original Capitol release of "Help", so I'm not sure about this entry.

Their debut produced 5 top twenty hits, including the aforementioned 3 number ones. But the sophomore slump claimed them in 1992 and they never recovered.

They were a second generation act; Wendy & Carnie Wilson were the daughters of the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson and Chynna Phillips was the daughter of John and Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and Papas.

Please tell me you've heard of the Beach Boys and the Mamas and Papas!

"Yesterday" was only featured on the British version of Help(believe it or not, up until 1967, the UK and US released different versions of Beatle albums). In the U.S. "Yesterday" was released as a stand alone single and it went to #1 on the Hot 100 for 4 weeks in October 1965.

So you are correct.

Wilson Phillips only had 2 albums in the 90's (1990 and 1992) and had have much fewer hits and overall albums sales than the BEP have had. I don't think the BEP will just be forgotten in 20 years, they've been consistent enough with their music for a while now, not to mention they've had branch-off success (Fergie's solo stuff, which Will.i.am played a huge part in).

I don't think they are forgotten completely. Mostly just forgotten for a younger, pop diva orientated crowd. The same crowd that shrieked that they had no idea who the Eagles are and that they are completely irrelevant

I say completely forgotten because, as with most early decade hits, the first couple of years of the 90s have been largely swept away (unless you were living them) superceeded by what came before (more visible 80s fare) and the 1992 grunge / hip-hop explosion.

Tara Kemp, anyone? Londonbeat? Natural Selection? Rythm Syndicate? Timmy T? Firehouse? Corina? Linear? Seduction? Tommy Page? Stevie B. Maybe you loved this stuff at the time (I did) - but very little 'stuck'.

Even the huge hits at the time (MC Hammer / Vanilla Ice / New Kids) have been sort of relegated to silly novelty in retrospect.

Yeah, every era has one-hit wonders. But in my 30 years of analyzing this stuff, it seems this era (along with 1980 - 81 in general) seems to be 'forgotten'...

It's as if Mariah Carey added "Don't Forget About Us" to tracklisting of "The Emancipation Of Mimi", and got a #1 single from that album.

Hits from album re-issues with added bonus tracks count on lists such as this.

For example, there are officially 13 top 40 hits from Fearless - Taylor Swift

Well I don't have a problem with that. Song from re-issues are promoting the current album. A single released one year prior to an album release is not part of the album campaign.

Most people do not consider "Doesn't Really Matter" the first #1 single from Janet Jackson's "All For You". At least back in 2001, Billboard classified "All For You" as the first single from that album. I know it's more difficult to keep up on these achievements, as album released now, and back in the 1960's were more complicated, than in the period between 1970 and 2000 where album sales dominated the record industry.

What about Michael Jackson's top 3 hit "Remember The Time/Come Together", as it was listed back in 1992. It that the first Top 3 hit from "HIStory", as "Come Together" is among the 15 tracks on disc 2?

In my opinion, those were still very good songs.

It wasn't just the "people on the album cover," it was the so called singing duo themselves. Those songs were credited to Milli Vanilli when no such singing duo named Milli Vanilli actually sang on any of those songs. The credit for those songs should have gone to the two studio singers who actually sang on the tracks, not to Milli Vanilli.

There was a reason why they had to give their grammy back.

Oh, I can answer that easy. I never liked "Milli Vanilli" or their songs to begin with.

And when I found out what a scam they were I wasn't the least bit surprised.
