I heard about the CMA nominations... but does that really spike single sales? I could see people maybe buying the album...

I don't like how Kris Allen's "Let it Be" is labeled as "Live"- it's not the performance he did on the show, so why should it be labeled as such?

I heard about the CMA nominations... but does that really spike single sales? I could see people maybe buying the album... i'm thinking that the sales between "Rude Boy", "Need You Know", "Hey, Soul Sister", and "Imma Be" are so close that there will be volatile movement between them so that even the nominations and morning show performance can propel the song to the top of these songs. I don't know if Bieber will hold at number two by the end of the week since his songs tend to peak in sales the week its released than fall off until airplay catches up, but I wonder if Taio will hold at number one.. very interesting. and Yay at "Rude Boy" already hitting top 20 on mediabase airplay!!!!

Kworb, didn't Kris play the guitar on Idol? In the sample at iTunes, I don't hear the guitar, just the piano. For contestant performances, it's versions recorded in the studio that iTunes sells, so since i didn't hear the guitar, I figured it was similar to that.

The guitar starts right at the end of the sample. On the show it was the same, he didn't start playing it until the end of the first chorus. I used Audacity to compare the audio from the show to the audio from iTunes and it's pretty much identical. So it's not like the studio recordings they sell during the season.

If that's the case, shows how much I was paying attention to the show. I thought he was playing the guitar earlier than that. Thanks for the clarification. :) Were the applause kept on the performance? On a side note, I liked his "Heartless" rendition on Idol last season, and would have bought it off iTunes if it were that version. Re bks and chartattack. It's hard to believe, but we may have to *gasp* wait until Billboard updates its charts to see this week's chart activity.

Well I think the gap this week was a lot larger than last week... and with only 20 mil or so separating the two on airplay, I don't think Lady A have enough to pull ahead.

Maybe HolidayGuy, Creme de la Creme or 2m could post the Billboard Hot 100 and the Bubbling Under Hot 100.
Sorry about BKS and chartattack. I miss their postings of the charts already.

bks and chartattack posted the charts on Wednesday, so if they don't post, no charts tonight (unless someone gets hold of it another way).
The sales gap between "Imma Be" and "Need You Now" decreased, bit not enough for Lady A to take the top spot.

Did people miss bks' explanation that his job is taking up more time than before and that posting updates like that is very time consuming?
He said he'd still post occasionally, just not as frequently as before. Some people do have lives outside of this message board.

bks has been faithfully posting the Hot 100 on Wednesday nights since early 2005.
If he is winding down or stopping this, I just want him to know how thankful we have all been these last 5 years. His insights and info have ALWAYS been very appreciated.
