Exactly. Trying to assert that she's not of a touring act, is pretty lame. It's not. She didn't tour until her 3rd album and even then she only did 6 dates. Would call that a huge tour? It's obvious Mariah is not into touring. She doesn't like it and it's not the end of the world for her if she doesn't tour for one album. She has no stage presence. She is a flop touring artist. |

BRUUUUUUUUCE! I'm a little foggy on the methodology here. If you look just at numbers of albums and singles sold, I'd have thought acts like Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas would have landed in the lower reaches of this list - how do you sell 3 or 4 million albums and twice that many singles and not make $10 million, even assuming you hardly made a cent from your live shows? Well isn't it obvious that the bulk of earnings is generated from successful touring? Michael Jackson scanned almost 10 million posthumously last year, God only knows how much worldwide, had a #1 movie at the box office, yet barely made it into the Top 20. Why? Didn't get the chance to tour. Everybody on this list was profitable on the road. Lady Gaga, for all the hype is a new artist. Her ticket prices aren't as high as more established acts. While someone may be grossing $1 million, $2 million, $3 million per show, her Montreal stop for instance only drew $564,821. Her performance in Camden did $291,295. BEP, same thing, not the same type of touring act as a lot of people on this list. Just because someone sells a lot of CD's doesn't mean they're able to pack arenas and stadiums. Ask Mariah. For all her success on the charts, homegirl has never been that much of a successful tourer. |

it's so obvious that this list is so wrong.
they use this 4 things.
1. the Billboard Boxscore archives (concert grosses)
2. Nielsen SoundScan (sales of physical albums, digital albums and digital tracks)
3. Nielsen BDS (tethered downloads, on-demand streams and noninteractive streaming at Rhapsody, Napster, AOL and Yahoo
4.Nielsen RingScan (master ringtone sales)
boxscore include international concerts(though only reported numbers), but the sales are only for US.
mosty dubious thing here is beyonce's number #13 with 23. her reported boxscore gross is 74m
while jonas brothers 65m, P!nk 66m, Coldplay 71m, and Nickelback is really low too. probably less than 60m.
beyonce is above all of them in everything. and behind them.

^I hadn't thought of that. Billboard has the Euro Digital chart it could include, but I don't know if there's a 100% accurate tracking system for Euro album sales. Obviously some acts would fare even better with international sales included.

Pink did a massive tour on Australia where she made a lot of money. No Mariah? Still throwing shade shamelessly I see  Sadly for you Mariah's tour started in 2010. And? Are you implying she's gonna make money off her tour? Look at the BoxScores. It would have flopped last year as well and she still wouldn't have been on the list. That's no shade, it's the truth. |

It's how much they actually pocket I think, not how much they actually gross. beyonce clearly one of biggest acts and I'm sure she has better contract than most of them. |
