Is this really his new single, because tracks have been leakin' all over the place for awhile now. He's one my faves, too.

This sounds like a mix of "Gotta Getcha" and "Shake It Off." I don't like it at all.

Where did you guys hear this? I'm really interested. I loved Donell's last two albums. He's really good. Even if this song sucks, i'd want it to be a hit, just so that he could keep putting out music.

Is this the song where JD goes, "We so sincere wit it, I just want you to know"
If so, its not bad...kinda mellow, but not bad

This sounds like a mix of "Gotta Getcha" and "Shake It Off." I don't like it at all. I don't see how you got that mix for this, but I do like the song. Wasn't even produced by J.D., Ryan Leslie did this one. I think this will do good for him.

It does sound like Ryan Leslie. It reminds me more of the DJ Clue remix of "We Belong Together" and Ryan Leslie's current single than anything else. I don't like it much, but Donnell Jones hasn't really impressed me since "U Know What's Up".

his last album was plagued with played-out sounding material, so it's good to hear him come with something more fresh. i love his voice and he's a good writer, the "where i wanna be" album is pretty dang good. i hope he does something this time around. as far as this song specifically goes, the beat's good.

Yeah its dumb kinda dumb for LaFace to release the album a day after Christmas. But I think people will still buy the album on December 26th 2005 cuz they been waiting for this album to come since June 22nd 2004. The date that it was supposed to come out but was getting pushed back cuz LaFace were promoting Usher.

Dec. 26 is a Monday....maybe its Dec. 27?
Either way, Im SURE the album will be pushed back to January or February. No one drops their album that soon after Christmas...well, John Legend did last year lol...

isn't it better to drop an album right after christmas than in january? at least with that date there will be massive amounts of ppl in stores for the post-christmas sales.

Post Xmas album releases aren't bad at all. I remember when DMX released his album during that time in 2000 and debuted at #1 selling a MASSIVE amount.

If an album is released right after Christmas, it benefits from return trade-ins, gift cards, sales, etc. It's when artists release albums in January and February that they suffer.

I remember buying lots of Christmas albums a couple years ago on Christmas evening! 1/2 off! I used all the money I got at our family party just minutes before.
Somewhat unrelated, but still.

Donnell will be fine. He already has an established fan base or does he? I still have not heard this single yet.

"Better Start Talking", a piano-driven uptempo produced and co-written with Sean Garrett (Usher, Destiny's Child, Ricky Martin), has been selected by LaFace/Zomba Records to blast off the 4th set from R&B star Donell Jones. Visit Donell-Jones.com to hear the song.
