Adam Lambert - "For Your Entertainment" - Thread 2

Hi - just starting a new thread for FYE as the old one is at 98 pages and therefore in danger of crashing sometime soon.


For Your Entertainment is Adam's first album on RCA records.

It was released on 23rd November 2009 in the U.S. and debuted at #3 on Billboards Hot 200 with almost 200,000 copies sold in its first week.

There have been two songs from the album go for radio ADDs so far.
The title track "For Your Entertainment" was pulled after only 3 weeks and quickly followed by the current single "Whataya Want From Me" which is currently #14 on Mediabase's CHR/Top40 Airplay chart and #25 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The album has to date sold approx 553,000 copies in the U.S., which is enough for Gold certification. It has also gone Gold in Canada and Singapore so far, with official release dates in Europe yet to come.

Here's some pics from Adam's Tokyo show. He looked AMAZING. Those pants that he's wearing were a gift from a DJ in Australia, and the dancers are his friends from his pre-Idol days, which I thought was cool.

I wonder if he knows that he looks a gigabillion times better without all that gunk on his face and without the spikes, glitter and tight pants? And this is coming from a person who doesn't really find him all that attractive to begin with. But his look getting off the plane in Japan is worth a thousand of what he looked like on stage later on. But I guess that look isn't ridiculous or outrageous enough. He doesn't carry his outrageousness through to real life, like Lady Gaga does (she's always dressed oddly), so it kind of makes you wonder why he does it at all if it's not part of his actual, real-life persona. Is it just to be outrageous for its own sake or does he think a mass audience would stop caring if he doesn't give them something sparkly and loud to look at while he's singing?

I am happy that people are embracing an out singer like Adam. Now if only they'll embrace him enough for him to be mainstream and slaying the charts like Gaga or Beyonce and selling boat loads like them, then he'll be in there.

Yes, I admire Adam for his honesty and integrity. He could have easily implied those first photos with him kissing the guy were "photo-shopped"- it sounds like a ridiculous excuse but you won't believe how stupid some fans can be even with contrary evidence staring them in the face. Granted, they would have to be PRETTY DAMN STUPID- but trust me, history proves they are out there.
