^ Obviously you haven't got my point yet. Why do you think she struggled filling that theatre up? Wouldn't her flop album be a reason? And wouldn't an 84% percentage and being one of the worst dates of the tour in 2006 (with a smash era) be proof that Atlanta isn't fond of her?
Mine is not blind stanning. I know those are facts, and I'm just trying to clarify things. That's all.
I know Mariah is not a touring act and I know well that she struggles selling tickets, I'm not trying to refute that. It's a fact. The tour wasn't that successful. But it wasn't a total disaster at all, all things considered IMO.

You're mixing apples and oranges with the stats! 84% of 13k is much better than 84% of say total seats available of 5k.
Flop album notwithstanding, she should have been able to fill up a 3,500 seat venue just based on her name alone even without an album. There are singers who are half as famous as she, older and who hasn't put out an album in years much less a gold album less than a year ago who can sell 5k tickets.
This is the issue. Based on her name alone and a core of fans, she should have been able to do it! Heck that is less than 2% of her twitter account.
ATL is an urban city that plays the kind of music that she does, rap/r&b- this venue stat is troubling no matter how u slice it and if it were anyone else, I would say the same.

Cool! I still don't think the tour was a disaster though, despite what people say. If you look the %, it doesn't look like a disaster. But when you know that she did around 3000 in arenas, it is a disaster. I wonder how she will be able to tour again in North America, at least in Canada.

I love Mariah, but IMO she is just way too hip-hop. For most of the old fans she was the ballad queen and she will never regain her fame as that and that change for r´n b artist or hip-hop-whatever style just is not enough. She transformed well, but somethings missing... I would really like to see her Charmbracelet boxscores for europe, I doubt very much that she did well then either.

Cool! I still don't think the tour was a disaster though, despite what people say. On the surface, it is not a disaster. However, you have to admit that for a huge star, most of her boxscore #s are anemic and very troubling. I know that Alicia Keys is not selling out either but so far, I think that for the type of artist that she is and her overall sales, she is doing ok and she's doing a mix of theatres but mostly arenas. Alicia just played Phillips Arena in Atlanta on Tues so looking forward to seeing her #s there. She had 7,345 people in Tampa on Sunday(not sold out but over 7k).

crowds or no crowds, I would imagine that it costs alot of $$$ for he to put on a concert. Background singers, dancers, wardrobe people, makeup people, choreographers, etc.. Huge payroll. Tough to make $$$ unless you are selling out shows unless you have a big sponsor.

Madonna followed up 2003's American Life, the first true flop album of her career, with the highest grossing tour of 2004. The Rolling Stone's A Bigger Bang album didn't sell much above Gold in the US, yet the preceding tour is still the highest grossing ever. Mariah just isn't a touring act.

^ Which is what I've been saying all along. Mariah is NOT a touring act. Yet people are trying to refute that...
