Out today from Sirius. A sleepy, hit-ready mix between today's version of Breaking Benjamin mixed with Anberlin. Not sure how this one can miss.

as many of u know, the lead singer of Parabelle was the lead singer of Evans Blue. I see this doing better than EB

This is way better than that really boring lead single off the new Evans Blue album, but I'm not in love with it. It's better than the average Matisyn-era Evans Blue song. And quite honestly, I would have believed you had you told me Evans Blue had reformed with Matisyn, because this band doesn't sound at all different other than the inclusion of piano on the track which could easily just be some studio magic.

Evans Blue are done, and this band isn't doing anything either.

Evans Blue are done, and this band isn't doing anything either. It's kind of sad really because I felt Evans Blue was one of the better generic radio rock bands out there, and then shit happened and now we have a lesser version of Evans Blue with the name and no promotion and a better version of Evans Blue without the name and even less promotion. So nobody wins, everybody loses.

The new Evans Blue cd is actually pretty good. "Say It," "Buried Alive," and "Sick of It" are all nice tracks. There's no "The Pursuit..." but neither of these bands will ever top that song.

It's neither new nor good. ''The Pursuit'' is good, but ''Cold'' does it for me.

How can you possibly diss many of the Chevelle tracks with the exception of "Sleep Apnea" and then like "Sick Of It"? That song is the epitome of cliché and boring. Then again, you do like "Give Me A Sign" even without the red bull, so who knows.

I think Evans Blue's first album was very very good. 'A Cross and A Girl Named Bless," Stop and Say You Love Me," "Beg," and the cover of "Possession" were all stand-out tracks to me. I wasn't too big on "Cold" or "Over," but the other songs I listed made up for them in my opinion.
The second album, I didn't like as much, but "The Pursuit," "In A Red Dress and Alone," Q," "My Damsel," and "Dear Lucid" were also outstanding.
It was really a shame to me of what happened because I think they really had something going for them if they made a third strong album before the mishap. I like their third album. Unfortunately, not as much as the previous two, but it just sounds to under produced and just not nearly as "ear-catching" if I could put it best.

Kevin Matisyn is brilliant. I loved the first two Evans Blue albums. The latest album sucks crap by them. Kevin WAS Evans Blue. That's obvious now after the first Parabelle double-album that was brilliant. This song "More" is amazing. It won't sell. It wont get a lot of airplay. But that doesnt matter to me. They still kick ass.
The remaining members of Evans Blue are a**holes. The latest album blows like i said already. They crapped the bed by kicking out KM. The guy who wrote the lyrics and the melodies.
Seriously it bugs me that the original band still goes by Evans Blue. They don't deserve the name.

Then again, you do like "Give Me A Sign" even without the red bull, so who knows. Sick Of It. Cliche? Yes. Boring? No. I like the new Chevelle cd a lot. In fact, I've been known to answer Chevelle as my answer to the hated "Your favourite band" question from time to time. That said, I respect songs like "Mexican Sun" and "A New Momentum" a lot more than I enjoy them. A song like "Sick Of It" is just simply nice brainless disposable hard rock -- good for a quick fix of cheap anger. P.S. Only one of the songs on the new Evans Blue cd cracked my top 50 (Say It), whereas both Sleep Apnea and Jars hit #1. I love the Chevelle cd a lot more than the Evans Blue one. I just don't get people calling the new Evans Blue cd a pile of shit -- it's just generic but well executed radio rock. If it were Veer Union album #2, nobody would be bitching.

All three Veer Union singles have been more interesting (and more likable) than "Sick Of It". I know that's something that can't really be said objectively, but I'm sure a poll would find me in the majority opinion in this case.
The only other song I've heard on the new Evans Blue album is "Bulletproof" (the follow-up single), and I like it considerably more than "Sick Of It" and on a similar level to "More" by Parabelle.

Neither Bulletproof or Sick Of It were good single choices. Say It would have been a strong lead single. Buried Alive was the other best choice.

I just listened to The Future In The End again. It's really good too. You're right, that would have been a fine single. My opinion of the album keeps on rising.

For some reason this song is sort of what I thought the 30 Seconds to Mars album would sound like. I know that's totally strange but I kept hearing Jared singing this in my head and it feels like it might have been a naturally progression for them.
It's a good song though and I would like to see this make some noise on the chart, however it's most likely at best going to see top 30.

"Say It" would have been the ideal lead single IMO.

Who cares about that irrelevant band? It's not Evans Blue. They just use the name.
Parabelle craps on this Evans Blue knock off band. This is a Parabelle thread.

I've never heard an Evans | Blue album, so I've been exposed to their few radio releases. This is easily the catchiest and most ready-for-radio that I can remember.

My local rock station just played "Erase My Scars" as the next potential Evans Blue single on their new music feature. I thought just based on "Sick Of It" that EB sucked without Matisyn, but that was really good! And "Bulletproof" is pretty good too. Now I'm gonna have to check out the tracks you guys keep mentioning. Parabelle is pretty good though. Hey if the old Evans Blue split into two good bands, I can totally dig that.

Damn you beat me to it! I logged in just to put this dude in his place, but you already did it for me. What I was going to say:
What do you think that this post is adding that you haven't already told us already?
Oh well, now I can sleep instead of wasting my time and going on a three paragraph rant. Nighty night!
