LOL. I find that hard to believe but who knows? I never tried my hand at predicting her album sales because I couldn't care less. Cyndi Lauper, Paula Abdul, Nelly, and many others are acts that had big selling albums very early in their career, then sold less with successive releases, and then couldn't maintain success at all. And for all of them they went from big numbers to disaster in a decade or less. Xtina stretched it out a *bit* longer merely because of taking so long to release her albums. Damn, well when you put it THAT way... I see what you are saying, PDC. I just hope she can break the curse but, like I said, you never know.

Is Glee being released worldwide this week? The last time I looked at the Worldwide ITunes stores, Glee was on top of most of the European countries as well as Australia. It's quite possibly an even bigger phenomenon overseas than the US.

There's a decent album. Game, set, snatch. I don't think it's a decent album, it doesn't have songs that I really like or songs with a real hit potential. The only song I liked from this era was "Little Dreamer." I hear this album and think that it took her 4 years to release this? ??? 100-120K, lol, what a mess..

Oh, shiiiit. :o 120k is abysmal. :'( That's barely a third of what her last album did in its first week. Who wants to bet that RCA will have her in the studio cranking out a commercial, radio-friendly album with the likes of Dr. Luke and Ryan Tedder by the end of the summer?

RCA is resting on their asses though. The dramatic wait for a second single is bullshit, they need to choose something and head on with full steam, idt that she'll have a second album out so soon because she still has Burlesque to promote, maybe she can simultaneously promote the inevitable ballad single and Burlesque?
if I were RCA, I'd have put out the WooHoo video, 2 weeks ago and have her doing that song on her promo appearances, WITH Nicki. Why not just put out both Bionic and You Lost Me together? Usher had like 6 singles out at once and still managed to work it out. They really don't have anything left to lose at this point... after this week, does she have any promotional appearances? or does everything ride on this week and its promo?

Two flop studio albums within a year or so is a bad look.

I see the first round of predictions have been acknowledged. As expected, the drama is ready and roaring. Oh Pulse (or its members better yet), you never seem to disappoint.
On another note, those Today show performances were terrible (at least the ones I saw - Beautiful/Not Myself Tonight). And what's with the freakin red lipstick?! Christina, enough already!

Entertainment Weekly finally came out with their review. Love that they highlight the ballads. www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20392153,00.html Much has been made of the peacocking crop of next-gen pop stars who have risen to take Christina Aguilera's place in the four years since she released her last studio album, 2006's Back to Basics — especially a certain pantsless, zeitgeist-lathering Lady. That may explain the glut of cool-girl collaborators (M.I.A., Le Tigre, Sia, Nicki Minaj) on Aguilera's latest, though in the end, the 29-year-old singer's biggest adversary isn't Billboard's late-aughts parade of Gagas, Katys, and Rihannas, but her own bad habits. From the earliest Britney-versus-Xtina days, Aguilera's vocal supremacy has always been her multi-octave trump card. Alas, that natural gift is too often negated on Bionic by her penchant for stock step-class beats and an aggressive, exhausting hypersexuality. The Minaj-assisted come-on ''Woohoo'' (''All the boys think it's cake/When they taste my woohoo'') and self-explanatory ''Sex for Breakfast'' pant lewdly alongside finger-snappy '90s flashbacks like ''Glam,'' ''Prima Donna,'' and ''Vanity,'' which seem to have been conceived primarily for walk-offs on RuPaul's Drag Race. There is some redemption in several sharp guest spots: M.I.A. delivers on the squiggly, hypnotic banger ''Elastic Love,'' while Australian chanteuse Sia, co-writing and providing backing vocals, turns Aguilera into a smoky, almost Fiona Apple-esque torch singer on the lovely sequential ballads ''All I Need,'' ''I Am,'' and ''You Lost Me.'' If only Aguilera herself didn't seem so lost in Bionic's hollow, manic detours. CDownload These: A chamber-pop beauty I Am at amazon.com An elastic dancer-floor doodle Elastic Love at amazon.com

Hits has this at 120-125k. Not much higher than Billboard as expected.

^ Coming from EW, that's actually a decent review. If I remember correctly, they were pretty hard on Stripped (and I don't think they even bothered to review BTB).

Yeah, actually a lot of reviews were hard on Stripped--which I don't really get, it's a really great album. I thought they were going to slaughter this one, but I think they actually gave it the same grade. Though, it's different writers, so you really have to look at the critic with EW (their two movie critics often disagree and they post little articles about it).

Since when are females "Deadbeat dads?"
I must have missed a memo.
ETA-Christina's numbers make Mariah and Kelly's numbers look amazing for MOIA and AIEW.

Sorry, that makes no sense. Women are still women, no matter which way you slice it.
ANYWAYS.
I hope I never, ever hear how Kelly is SUCH.A.FLOP. ever, ever again. Come on now. Even Ke$ha outsold Christina with her opening week. So did Adam. And Kelly. And Cook.
Geezus.

At the risk of starting a massive stan argument, sales=/= talent. I love Kesha and her music but I would never say that she's a better singer or is more talented than Christina. Christina has been off the scene for years and has never been as commercially successful as her peers...
For all the mentions of Christina's bitchiness, she has seemed pretty gracious to me ever since she stepped back into public life for this album. She was in her early 20s when she made alot of those bitchy statements about other artists and whatnot, I think given her childhood and her background she was always a defensive person and motherhood and marriage has seemed to tame a lot of those bad qualities in her. This was a girl whose father beat her and her mother as a child and she had to deal with bullying in school adn then bullying by the media for always pitting her against Britney when she came out.. perhaps I am a more forgiving person but I think she's moved on from all that. Didn't someone say she was at Britney's baby shower or Britney was at hers or something like that? And I distinctly remember an interview with her during Britney's comeback that she only had nice things to say.

^ She and Britney sent one another gifts for their respective pregnancies, but I don't think they actually attended each other's showers.

A pedophile. jk It's white Rhianna ;) J/k You did not just insult my fav. >:( I watched a bit of that Fuse Takeover yesterday, which reminded how much I loved Keeps Getting Better, despite its secondhand Goldfrapp status. That video was wack as Adam Lambert's album cover though.
