I am satisfied with the quality of this album overall. If I was in control I would have edited it a bit-cut a few songs on the main version and added a few from the Deluxe on the main one, but overall it has about as many songs I love/like as with any pop cd from other artists and/or Christina herself. I am fairly convinced absolutely nothing is going to save this album so I wish they would throw out one other single (preferably one that showcases the BEST side of the album-either experimental or one of the better ballads) and then let it die. Then brainstorm the hell out of how to get her career back on track with a new cd soon-ish. If she waits another 3-4 years it is over.

Personally, I would have scrapped BOTH You Lost Me and Lift Me Up, and kept I Am and All I Need. YLM and LMU are just unmemorable and don't do anything FOR the album except be like OOH! Christina can sing! Alll those ballads back to back make for a very slowwwww dragging section of the album, whereas two maybe three really good and DISTINCT ballads dispersed throughout the album would have been more effective. IMO the only ballads that SHOULD be on the album are All I Need/I Am/Sex for Breakfast.
And for God's sake-get rid of those lame intros.

Out of the ballads I would have put on the cd Stronger Than Ever, All I Need, and You Lost Me. YLM is a great song that is pretty much reminding her hardcore fans why they love her and artists always need to check back and do that. I Am is a bit different for her and STE is the most radio friendly/beat driven of all the ballads. All I Need can DIAF and you don't need Lift Me Up if you have YLM.
Do you guys consider Birds of Prey a ballad? I would put that on the main cd too, but I don't really consider it a ballad ballad.

Except for your last statement, I couldn't disagree with you more. As much as I love each ballad, my two least favorites are "I Am" and "All I Need" and have trouble recalling how they go. But I get "Lift Me Up" and "You Lost Me" stuck in my head (along with most of the album). I love the ballad section of the album. It's different, sticking them all together in the middle. Haven't decided whether or not I like it like that, but it does make for 5 tracks that I don't skip in a row (other than the stupid intros).

Christina's been saying that s**t since 2002. I was just about to say that lmao. Reminds me of some fans going onto Christina's YT page and saying that she copied GaGa in the "Fighter" video. Well didn't she? It's just like Ace of Base ripped off Alejandro.

Yeah YLM and LMU are very interchangeable. Pick one if you HAVE to have one on the album, but dump the other. They're WAY too similar, and one of them I swear sounds like it should have been on her debut album.
Birds of Prey should have been on the album proper.
Songs I would dumped altogether:
All of the intros Prima Donna You Lost Me OR Life Me Up. I Hate Boys My Girls Vanity
Everything else I think could make a case for staying on the album, and I'm including the bonus tracks in that. If you eliminate those 8 or 9 tracks I mentioned, you would have a much leaner, more cohesive album with 15-16 tracks, which I think is more reasonable and helps the flow better.

I feel that "You Lost Me" and "Lift Me Up" are different sounding and I think help make the album. Both of them. But with your "songs to dump", I pretty much agree, although I love the lyrics to "Vanity", so I'd keep that one. Her ballads actually go against what she wanted. None of them are "electronic" or whatever.

I think you have a problem more with the tracklist order then the songs. And All I Need is not memorable at all. I even forgot the name when I was trying to list my favorite ballads in order . for me, All I Need is the definition of filler. But yes. the intros should've been scrapped. the album is long for no reason. I think LMU could've been taken out and made into a promotional single after she performed it during the Haiti Telethon. That way it could've seen the light of day and make room for Stronger then Ever on the main album.

But with your "songs to dump", I pretty much agree, although I love the lyrics to "Vanity", so I'd keep that one. I love Vanity too. But it shouldve been a deluxe track. Something that only her fans that buy the deluxe hear. Cause casual listeners that buy the album are gonna get the wrong impression.

Yeah, I love Vanity, but would have left it on the deluxe version most likely. Maybe dump Lift Me Up or whatever on there as well. I still think Boys is one of the most radio friendly songs on the cd so I would keep it. Almost all of the deluxe tracks should have been on the regular cd though.
I hate that Christina has a ton of great songs that would make great cds, but sucks at choosing tracklistings, keeps a few too many songs, and bogs down the cd with weird intros/outros. Like, seriously, hire someone to make a few better decisions with the tracklisting-not even major changes, just tweaks here and there and her cds would go from good to great.

I don't get it cause RCA seemed so inclined to take over Kelly's stuff when they should've been doing it to Christina. I haven't messed around with the track-listing but I'm thinking I'm gonna do that now. I'll post it when I'm done :)

I'd keep all the ballads but would have spaced them out a little more. I don't get how LMU and YLM are interchangeable, beyond a superficial level. They have distinct messages and productions.
Could do without Love & Glamour but My Heart leads in nicely to All I Need, IMO. Morning Dessert should have been developed into a full track to replace Sex For Breakfast.
Other than that, I would have moved Birds of Prey, Little Dreamer and Stronger Than Ever to the main CD.

first off wanna say sorry for taking over the thread lol.
silverwhite, I literally LOLed when I heard 'My Heart'. It could've been cute as an intro to AIN but having her husband in it making the wierd noise just killed it for me. lmao
Random:Monday Morning reminds me of one of the slower tracks on 'The Fame' lol

My suggested tracklisting, just for fun: 1. Bionic 2. Not Myself Tonight 3. WooHoo 4. Elastic Love 5. Glam 6. I Am 7. Desnudate 8. Prima Donna 9. You Lost Me 10. Birds of Prey 11. Lift Me Up 12. Stronger Than Ever 13. Vanity 14. Little Dreamer Deluxe:15. Monday Morning 16. Bobblehead 17. I Hate Boys 18. My Girls 19. Sex For Breakfast 20. My Heart (Intro) 21. All I Need

I'm really sorry for the situation. She could definitely turn the era around like Rihanna did with 'Rude Boy'.
But Christina's case also shows us something: artists with perfect image can't have massive success sometimes, while others (Kelly Clarkson) with image that doesn't fit to the pop culture can easily score 2 700k sellers in a row. Being fat.

Kelly also had massive airplay hits much larger than NMT and this was heralded as her huge return to the pop scene as a beloved pop star. Your comment baffles me

I play this album repeatedly and now, I am pretty sure I can deal without My Girls and Monday Morning. I Hate Boys sounds good so despite the corny, girl-power/lesbianic lyrics, I can deal with it. Glam could probably go too. I was talking to my friend last night and we were both saying that the problem for straight males listening to a female vocalist's CD is that, for the most part, there is always going to be at least one song that we can't relate to at all. It just comes with the territory of enjoying female artists. I can't appreciate lyrics about putting on makeup and mascara but at least the production on Glam sounds interesting. My Girls sounds so cheesy - lyrically AND sonically. I don't know why people bother getting worked up about the interludes - they are gone before you even realize they were playing. Also, STE's chorus sounds too rock and heavy for the song to be considered a ballad, IMO. That's like calling Bring Me To Life by Evanescence a ballad. All I Need is one of my favorite Christina songs ever, especially the pre-chorus. It's just beautiful . I LOVE her vocals on Sex For Breakfast but the song itself is kinda silly. The Early Show performances were some of my favorite from her in a LONG time. I thought it was her best YLM performance yet and I LOVE the fact that she did straightforward versions of GIAB/WAGW. She sounded great.

Um, what?
I don't buy music because the person singing it is pretty or wears a certain size. I buy it because I like the MUSIC. Kelly may not be thin, but her music is great, and she has a sweet personality. People root for her to do well. Christina is very pretty and thin, has a great voice, but her personality is cold, and this time around, her music is very uneven at best. Hence, her sales just aren't there this time around.

Then brainstorm the hell out of how to get her career back on track with a new cd soon-ish. If she waits another 3-4 years it is over. She will have some new songs out in a few months. Does anyone know if the "Burlesque" soundtrack is on RCA? Maybe there's a hit there.

Unfortunately, I think if Kelly would have been Breakaway era hot, "the sales would have been there this time". Sad but true, pop stars need the entire package. Kelly did well because she has a huge likeability factor. You don't hear a lot of fat pop stars on the radio. Anyway, back to Christina. I've always found her to be cold and snobbish attitude.

Oh my gosh, last night while pregaming, I threw Bobblehead into the mix, and of my gays thought it was Chelley Took the Night. Such an astute observation! They do indeed share similar production and chanting of the chorus.
