I'm really hoping the chances of Schiesse being released aren't fucked by the German/pronunciation thing. It's easily one of the strongest tracks.

Agreed - I think it's a necessary release to balance out the poppier TEOG/MTN/YAI. I think Schiebe is probably the only 'hard' dance track that could do well.

Yah- the video is pretty basic. Maybe because it wasn't really planned to be released as a single so soon, there wasn't much time to brainstorm and such?

Is she joking? I mean it's a perfectly average video, but she set the standard so high ever since Paparazzi (or LG, even). I think that's maybe as good as PF's vid.

That was below average tbh. Reading the comments about it before I watched it, I was just assuming it was plain and I figured I would love the video since it'd match the song...but that was just an awkward mess and it sucks because it's her best single imo. |

The video is really boring, but some of the reactions on this board have been completely dramatic like suggesting this is going to kill the song or the album. "The Edge of Glory" is one of her most basic, tame, and adult oriented songs and I really don't see a problem doing a video that is a lot tamer and more basic than her typical videos. It's not going to stir up any of the anti-Gaga controversy that "Born This Way" and "Judas" did. At the same time there is still buzz all over the Internet about what went on behind the scenes, to the point that the original director and choreographer were trending topics on Twitter. That's unheard of. The video is disappointing, but I hardly think it's a disaster or the beginning of the end for the song, album, or Gaga's career.

They had a concept, built entire sets, hired a director and tons of dancers and such, filmed for a day or two, and then Gaga sent them all home and did this in like, half a day for the video. Time wasn't an issue. |

I like the video, it's not her best by any stretch of the imagination but the simple 80's take is refreshing from her over-the-top spectacles. It makes one focus on the most important thing...the music. I know there was trouble on the set and that's unfortunate but sh*t happens. I honestly was not here for the rumored mermaids and surgical procedures (though I enjoyed her Le Grand Journal performance). Gaga doing her old choreography, stomping the pavements of her hometown (loved the cement kiss), chilling with Clarence and looking amazing >> Of course that is just my opinion based on what has been presented- maybe with Kahn at the helm all that extra ish would have worked out fine. Yet no one will ever know...lol.   Now with that being said, I have been lmao at some of the responses I have read from fans, stans and haters dislikers (so glad I was away from home when the video aired). There has been, she's a whore (?), her career is over (say what?), she needs to take a break, its times for this era to be cut short et cetera. I mean really...its a MUSIC VIDEO! |

Maybe its a good thing she's downgrading her videos and not hyping shit up. There was NO hype for this video at all. She got to a point where everything she did was so hyped that every move was expected to be "OMG AMAZING!11!", etc. I think in a few months, a lot of people who are acting like its the end of days will look back and think "Eh.. whatever". She may not be as HUGE as she was last time, but who the fuck cares? |
